Where are the fish

Down on palmers road. You can go through the gate and start fishing immediately or travel down a couple hundred yards and catch em there to. They're scattered
Caught another limit today. Me and 2 buddies went down and wore em out. The real bite started about a hour before dark. We managed 32 keepers in total along with catching several short fish. Been a good run on the salt river this year.
Hey,
Bank fished the WMA for 2 hours Thurs,4/10/14.Onl caught 1 foot long white bass on a white rooster tail.
Talked to several people up & down the river and nobody was catching them.Somebody told me they may have already pushed through and are now further upstream.Another guy said that's just the way it is with white bass,
They can be on fire one day,and nothing the next.Do these spawning fish come through in waves?
Anyway, what a nice day to take a day off work and go fishing!
Kurt
Way to go Kentuckykingfisher! , I managed to get there Wed. evening, and found a crappie hole, but not many whites. The whites I caught were in the 9-10 inch range, and what a battle with 6 pound line. maybe there are more to come after this next rain.

Well I got there yesterday around 3 and tossed a rooster tail around for about a hour with out a hit. Then finally started catching some crappie. The whites didn't start hitting until a hour before dark. I believe the fish come in waves because a lot of guys said they fish were on up river but 2 days in a row I caught my limit in the same spot after hearing lots if people saying they're way up river so hell who knows

Not trying to ask where people's spots are obviously but I am trying to see if I should go to the salt river or head to nolin river and try to catch some white bass?
Trying to save some gas money, any tips would be appreciated
thanks Richard

Hello, and welcome to the board. Lots of good info on here and a lot of good folks. Down on the salt river in Tville the whites were on fire but the wma is closed for turkey season so if you wanted to fish you'd have to walk. I'll be heading to nolin this weekend to chase the whites. You can start at broadford bridge and if you don't do any good there go to the bacon creek boat ramp and fish the direction towards broadford. The whites are in between there right now. Should be good fishing this weekend and next week. Any other info you want just p.m me
They have been running sporadically in the salt river for a week or so, and Nolin is starting from what I've heard, it's either, or in my opinion. Nolin seems to have more numbers of quality fish, Taylorsville has been back and forth. Again my opinion, but I think that it's just beginning .It's not a question of secret place for me, you just have to find where they are.
Yeah no doubt you have to put the time in! I have a great weekend at Bacon Creek a few years ago, white bass 12-15 inches, very fun to catch and taste good! I also had one day on the Cumberland for them, ran into em by mistake and ever since haven't caught any down there.
So the wma is closer tomorrow? Old river is closed tomorrow?
