You can catch both speices during Jan. Feb. out of 18mile creek. Glog of worms or mess a minows,and it is amazing the size hook they can get in there mouth.You will catch mud puppies about 10 to 1 more than Hell benders. Chuck

My buddy pulled a mud puppy out of elkhorn in march and ive caught a few oit of lock 2 on ky river the biggest one being about 16 inches when i caught it i had no clue what to do i was tripping out the thing bit the hell out of me didnt cut me but it had some bite preasure but that was in january when the river was rolling flooded and i was fishing the trees by the stairs trying to get some crappie or a rogue sauger
