ok chuck you have just made me remember how much i have forgotten over time lol.
about a 100 years ago we would fish for white bass and walleye at night with gas lanterns fashioned with tin foil for max light on the water. there were nights we couldnt fish for the trout, big ones too. and then in an instant it was over, the 30-40lb stripers would raid the party and all that was left were broken lines and hurt feelings.
my grandmother was still alive back then and she cursed the "strip-ed a$$ devils", unless we actually got one in the boat, then she was heatin the grease.
good times.
A big shad die off coupled with heavy generation makes for fantastic fishing below the dam!
