RE: BASS TIMES article on bass or tourney survival
LAST EDITED ON Oct-17-05 AT 01:06PM (EST)[p]Here is my 2 cents....Overall, bass tournament fishermen practice catch and release to the best of their ability. I have not met a bass tournament angler that agrees with harvesting keeper bass and honestly believe that they feel guilty when they hook a bass deep or lose a bass in their livewell. On the other hand....deer hunters kill deer...duck hunters kill ducks...turkey hunters kill turkeys...goose hunters kill geese...etc. Our goal is not to kill bass and sometimes we fail. To that extent, we try to preserve our sport for ourselves and future generations. At least we try. Bass are no more an endangered species than are deer or ducks, still we do not try to kill them. I am not saying there is anything wrong with hunting so let's not go down that road.
