May 18, 2002. My buddy, Steve, called me to see if I wanted to fish a small lake in Central Ky on the 19th. My wife and I had plans to leave for vacation the next day so I declined. When I returned from vacation I learned that he had caught 63 that day by himself. His biggest 5 went just over 28 pounds. He said he had 2 that sawed him off that would have put him over the 30 pound mark. All LM on spinnerbait and fluke.
Mike Terry's 38lb+ definitely one of the most memorable catches I've ever seen. He culled more fish that day, then what most anglers catch in entire tourn. season. That was when KY Lake was at it's best. However it is coming back strong and the grass is starting to pop up everywhere now too.
My personal best was about 9 years ago, 6 fish- 24.6# (5.2,5.1,4.9,etc.) on Barren, and I don't really like Barren.
I could only dream of big sacks like that. My best in only 8 years of tournament fishing came off Stillhouse Hollow in Texas 4 fish/ 16 pounds (solo) my front boater placed 2nd with 11 pounds.
I did win a tournament in hawaii a few years ago with 3 fish(limit of peacocks) 15lbs.
As I've only been living in the KY/Barkley area for 2 years, my best is 4 l/m at 14 something out of Paris landing.
my Best was 28 lb sack of 5 on Barkley but my most impressive was first place win an laurel with 26.7 and a big fish of 7.04. Been back several times and can barely catch a keeper on it

There were 2 great fishermen on a little lake in Mt vernon ky last october, fishing the end of the year classic. They managed to bring in 20.90lbs witch included a 4.56 spot and 5.53 largemouth.
2005 MDA Tourney Rocky Point on the Ohio River in August fished by himself, quit at noon, and had 3 fish ,18lbs ,2 was dead :(
tHATS A HUGE SACK FOR THE OHIO RIVER
One time on Barkley, in a little tournament, my partner and I had six that weighed 38lbs. We actually had six that weighed around 25 by 10am that morning and then hit the motherload. In 30 minutes we culled all of those fish. Of the six was one over 8 and one over seven. The rest were between five and six. We actually culled several fish pushing five pounds. All on one spot and caught every one of them on crankbaits. That was in 1995.
Never had a day like that since. Not even close.
Read this now 5 fish 63 pounds in 2 hours but they were red snapper
Other than that the most would be 15.74 out of rough about 3 years ago. Bill Lowen had a good sack yesterday in the B.A.S.S.tournament at rayburn over 20 and he's in 9th place.
I fished a red Man tournment in the 80's on Dale Hollow so fish may been caught in Tenn. but a boat, don't remember names, but one weighed in about 31 pounds and partner had 29 pounds.Remember guy saying they culled another limit of 4 pounders. Cranking was what they was caught on.
