I know it will make some mad also but I agree with this. Just the stress of being in a live well, traveling in boat over rough water, and being released after several hours probably kills more fish than the average guy that keeps a few. There have been divers report lots of dead bass at release sights the day after even though they swam away when released only to die later. I'm not against tourney fishing but it does take a toll.

The first one my father had mounted for me when I was about 12 it wieghed in at just over 5 lb. It was the first keeper bass I ever caught, my dad did not bass fish, that is the fish that got me hooked. I have also done both of my sons that way I mounted thier first keeper bass. Both of which were about 13" long.

The last one I had mounted, anout 18 years ago, way 6-4 and I caught it on and ultra-light on 4 lb test line.

Since that time I have caught some really big fish and always release them most of the time keeping nothing but a memory.

In my life I have been lucky I guess I have caught (2) fish over 9lbs and (6) over 8 lbs. I will not have another mounted it is just me I believe a replica in the long run will be better IMO.

Lets all stand up and give the moderators a good slow clap for once again displaying keen judgement and thoughtfulness in preserving this top notch internet forum. Good thing no one is allowed to have an opinion around here or it might make for a true learning experience for those who care to think outside the 1" x 1" box inside their heads.

In every thread that I post a reply it gets canned. Everytime.

I don't generally like fried fish, so I rarely keep anything I catch - bluegill, crappie, bass, catfish, etc.

That being said, I have kept, cleaned, cooked over a campfire and eaten a couple of smallmouth on trips to the BWCA when there weren't enough walleye to be had.

First off, this is not a "public forum" it is PRIVATE message board owned by a PRIVATE individual(s), the owner(s) and moderators can do whatever they want and if they viewed something in your post was not in the best interest of this message board or against board rules then it was and will always get deleted.

Second, I didn't see your message, but have been around here for awhile and IMO the moderators do a darn good job on this site and therefore I trust their judgement. And if warranted, they may even come on here and explain why it was deleted. However, since it is a PRIVATELY owned message board they are not obligated to give you any explanation or reason as to why they deleted your message, it may have been an error, who knows!

Finally, I've had plenty of my own messages deleted from this board, as have others, but never once did I claim it was some kind of "conspiracy" against me! It was only a message on a fishing message board, get over it.

I agree with Bevo. I've had several posts mysteriously deleted by the moderators of this site also. Dickens started the string asking for the best fish recipees. My post was quickly deleted. I only assume it was deleted because it included bass (among other fish) as being tasty to eat. I'm guessing that Dickens and Peter don't like people eating their bass.

Hey you do not have to fry those fish. I have some heart problems so I do not eat fried foods.

Here is how to cook some fish that is easy quick and healthy.
Crappie, Bluegill, Shellcracker , I really do not like Catfish this way.

Wash the fillets and pat dry with paper towel.

2 tablespoons Olive Oil mixed with 1 tablespoon lemon juice
(this amount is for about 1 lb fillets)

Thin Slice 1/4 - 1/2 bell pepper

Place fillets in bowl cover with olive oil mix

place olive oil covered fillet on broiling pan I then lightly sprinkle with Lemon Pepper and place bell pepppers


preheat oven to 400-425 on Walleye it takes about 5-7 minutes
On Crappie and such it takes about 4-6. As soon as the flakes start to seperate they are done.

I love them cooked that way, heart healthy and all.

While this site may be a "private" endeavor this is still a public message board. It is publicly viewable by anyone with access to the world wide web and the contents contained therein are all public domain once posted. When registering on this site and/or posting one never consents to a EULA or otherwise surrenders their rights which would in turn make this a private forum.

I am curious though how you relate my post to a claim of conspiracy, and perhaps you should heed your own advice of "It was only a message on a fishing message board, get over it" as you seem to have gotten extremely worked up over "a message on a fishing board".

Thanks for the recipe. The other side to it is that I'm too lazy to clean them....and also don't feel like killing them very often.
