RE: Toughest lake in the state?
Walley fishing in Cumberland is as hard as it gets right now!!!
RE: Toughest lake in the state?
Ive fished beaver there is one cove to the right that you can catch fish out of and that is it. I caught like 20 12 inchers
RE: Toughest lake in the state?
chadyoung2,
I agree with you we can do that all over the lake but try catching keepers. The min limit is 15"
RE: Toughest lake in the state?
I think Cumberland is a piece of cake compared to some, but I live on the lake. To me, Taylorsville is the most miserable place to try to get a bite that I have fished in KY.
RE: Toughest lake in the state?
My vote would be Taylorsville for keeper bass. go to Dale about 3-4X a year and do alright, but have had days there that just baffle me.
Cumberland has been good to me the few times I've been there.
Close 2nd would be the Ohio River, it just blows my mind. Be on a good pattern for 2-3 days then the pattern dies. Can't count how many times that has happened to me on the river.
RE: Toughest lake in the state?
Not to change the subject but I thought that Beaver was starting to turn around after the shad kill off a few years ago .I remember last year that early on , there were reports of nice fish and good stringers being caught .I used to fish the tournaments down there - I went through the feast and the famine when it was booming , then afterward it was so hard .I always hoped it would get back on track .Any comments , feedback or observations?
RE: Toughest lake in the state?
Beaver is on it's way back to being a good lake. right now almost all the fish seems to be under 15" so you cannot keep them Bluegill on the other hand is plentiful!!!!!
RE: Toughest lake in the state?
I used to think the river was, but I went every week for two months last summer and for 10 straight weeks this year. Now that have been 'pushed' to figure something out it's not so hard for me. First thing about the river is to take all your spinnerbaits and crankbaits to eBay and sell them. Cause that's all they are worth on the river.
