RE: Too may tournaments on Kentucky Lake
Crowded water just means more of a challenge! Isn't that what bass fishing is all about, overcoming the challenges? Being crowded is something that you just have to overcome. It's becoming more and more common and I don't expect it to lighten up any time soon! If they get within casting distance, cast a heavy jig at 'em! No one likes getting whacked with a jig!!!
If you think it's just bass fishing, try duck hunting on the lake sometime! It's the same thing!
RE: Too may tournaments on Kentucky Lake
I guess I'm kind of different type of fisherman because I own a houseboat and a ranger bass boat. When you want to talk about rude I am ashamed to be associated with some tournament bass fisherman. When I arrive at the boat dock on Friday night and the tournament fishermen have the road blocked trying to leave the marina and you run into a truck in both lanes heading out. I have waited as long as fifteen minutes to get to our parking spot at Kentucky Dam Marina. Of course as soon as I get on the pier I am reminded what everyone pays for dock fees per year and how rude the fishermen are in the parking lot. We also have had a case where firemen and ambulance have trouble getting through.
I would let this go, however this is the rule not the exception in fact one of my friend asked a boat owner to please get out of her lane so she could get to her boat and use the potty. She was promtly given the finger and told where to go. Then the guy told her he had gotten up at 3:30 had been fishing all day and was wanting to go home so his wife could fix his dinner like all little women should do. Also I can not believe how many fisherman do not know what no wake is.
