George, as usual I usually have way too much on my table to fish even more tourney's. But have given some consideration to ABA because it does start after everything else is over for the year. I'm not ready to give up fishing tourney's yet this year. Central KY dist. would work better for me. Not sure what I am doing---just giving it some thought. I will do some more studying on the website today. Thanks for the info.
don't know to much about this shared weight stuff. I like to be in control of how I do. Shared weight is cool if it is a team event and can choose your partner, but just on a blind draw?

The division that you are looking for is district 103 they fish Old Hickory and Percy Preist. On the ABA website go to tournaments drag down to by maps click on Tenn and check out all of their divisions.

I think you are right on. Talked to a buddy that has fished both for years and said that only thing you have to worry about is some boaters worry about themselves, and in BASS they want you to catch as much as them.

You might be a bit confused---in the BASS weekend series, the boater does not benefit from the non-boaters fish. Only the non-boater benefits from the boaters fish. The "shared weight" only applies to the non-boater.
I fish the ABA in Georges division when I get a chance. Only made 3 last year because I travel for work a lot. But I am in Atlanta this weekend and going to fish in District 26. I contacted the Director and he is going to loan me a couple of rigs (I still need to go buy baits and a license). This set up works great for me. Any where I am, I can find a tournament to fish for points toward National.
I too have thought of the BFL....Until I am settled in an area I can concentrate on and be competitive, it doesnt make a lot of sense.

Yes---that is correct. You could have 3 bass--which is the non-boaters limit and the boater blank and you get beat by someone elses shared weight who's total is 4 bass or more and there is nothing you can do about it. ***** doesn't it!
That is the craziest thing I've ever heard. To get penalized because your boater didn't catch anything.
But,
It can go the other way----say the non-boater blanks, but the boater weighs a limit that is 17 lbs. Then no one elses combined weight can beat that-----you win the non-boater side and never caught a fish(actually, you could have not even brought along anything to fish with). Yes--crazy!!!! I finished in 8th place at Center Hill---I had 4 bass and my non-boater had 2. I came in 8th and won a little over $400---my non-boater came in 3rd, got a check for $500 and a nice plaque and it was his first ever "big" tournament he ever fished. He never practiced,never been to the lake and he lived about 50 miles from it. But, I had never been there either and spent 4 days pre-fishing and finished 8th and he got a 3rd. Doesn't make much sense does it?????
