B.A.S.S. vs Federations

I do not want too see the federations join FLW. I would rather see the federations start their own national tournament. Bass wasn't giving much back to the federation members anyway. The 15-20 dollars would go along way for a national tournament. The classic for federation members is like winning the lottery. I know it has been done but it is easyer to get there through the opens.
I will be recomending that our club drop out of the federation and bass all together.
Like others have said, there are better circuts out there for the weekend angler.

George, hang on before you recommend dropping out of the Federation. I'm hearing rumblings of some stuff that may change things. The Federation chapter presidents, officers, and considerable numbers of members are apparently pretty peeved about this situation. There may some alternatives in the works. The KBF chapter of the Bass Federation is going to hold a special meeting on December 11th. All Federation officers strongly urge that club presidents, and any interested members attend this meeting.

I'll vote as the clubs in my region want me to, but on a personal level I'm extremely upset over BASS's repeated heavy handed treatment. Since taking over, ESPN has fired anyone who dared to stand up and represent the Federation. They got rid of the last two people who held Mr. Rucks' position before him and both had very strong Federation backgrounds. The Bass Federation is it's own incorporated organization, and is NOT owned by ESPN/BASS. For them to banish our leaders for trying to represent our interests makes me furious.

I let my B.A.S.S. Membership expire this year and had planned on renewing it, mainly so I could fish the KBF, but since Mid Summer, I just for the life of me couldn't come up with a good reason why I should. I think it is a real shame that Rucks and his cronies are alienating the folks that made B.A.S.S. what it is today. I really wanted to fish KBF, and had planned on trying it out next year. but if I have to be a member of bass, I'll take a pass, and that's a shame! I guess Bass has turned one more fisherman against them. Me!
