Stay with SOSpenders in that case. My rearming kit only cost about $30 or so, if my memory serves me right.

Thanks for all the replies!!So from what I'm hearing from ya'll is a little bit of rain is OK,but the moisture from fog or condensation is what will get you in trouble.
Only if you shut them up while they're still moist. Let them air dry and you should be OK. Good Luck
I have the Red Mustang one and I was told that it would shed rain just fine, but storing it wet will cause the moisture to soak in and set it off. I'd say, hang it up and let it dry if you can and you should be ok. I have only had mine a couple of months and have not had any rain on them yet. I do keep my two spare regular jackets in the boat and also a spare recharge kit that came with my vest. I believe the Mustang kit for mine is about $30.
I believe the red ones are basically the same as the SOSpendors. I have only seen the Mustangs that work off hydrostatic pressure in blue. Pretty sure the red ones use the same type of water-sensitive bobbins as the other brands. In that case the re-arming kit would be about $30, but if they were the hydrostatics, then they do cost around $70-75.
That makes sense...kind of like a jet ski. Good thinking Danny!
