Put Bill Lowan on there!
I've not heard anything, I think Joe can still qualify for the ELITE Series through the opens, but I'm not sure when they are or if they already had them. I would think they would still be in the fall.
Someone mentioned Reel In The Outdoors, that is Joe Thomass' company so I'm pretty sure he will continue that.
But I very seriously doubt Joe is going anywhere, he does awesome on the Outdoor Channel and is so well known that I'm sure they will figure out something.

His shows are good because as someone said it is a fishin show that shows how someday you whack em then some you get whacked.I too have always liked his personality,I don't think he realy lacks confidence,he second guesses himself,i do the same thing,I also feel he fishes from his knowledge,we all learn from others but i get more gratification out of winning and placing on my own knowledge and i feel that's how he approaches it.The tourneys these days are based on your ability, your knowledge and what info you can gather from anyone else,I feel he does it on his own and it handicapps him to an extent.
Joe does not do well for 1 reason, TV. Joe understands his long term future is in TV. While most anglers are fishing weeks ahead of time and even months early to prepare for certain tourny's, Joe is shooting multiple TV Shows, making apparences, etc. This puts him at a large dissadvantage from a fishing standpoint, but in 10 years he won't be broke like a lot of the anlgers beating him on the tour.
Joe is as good an angler as any of those other guys, he just has about 10 times more going on off the water.

Matt,
I sent you an email.

Whether he fishes or not, it has to be pretty cool that BASS now has a Joe Thomas rule.
This rule prohibits you from wrapping your boat in clear vinyl.
As you may remember, BASS required all boats entered to be vinyl wrapped. Joe, and rightfully so in my opinion, did not want to detract from his brand, and his "outdoor channel" wrap, just wrapped his boat in clear vinyl to be compliant with the rules.
I guess BASS did not like a guy being a little independent of them.
I personally hope he switches over to FLW and continues his show. I do watch it, and generally enjoy it.
As I posted a month or so ago, I loved his episode profiling Bill Lowen.

Im not sure but I think to go to the FLW he's going to have to qualify for that also, anyway just because he didnt or might not make the Elite why would he end his show, AOT has been on for like 3 years way before the Elite series.
I for one hope he dosent hang it up I dont know him personally but he seems like one of the nicest guys around I'm sure all of the filming he dose sure cuts into his practice time but the thing I like about AOY it shows the highs and lows of fishing which is how fishing really is they dont just show him catching fish after fish they also show him just hauling water which here latley seems to be the same pattern I've been fishing (lol) but as far as Joe Thomas goes I hope he stays with AOY and keeps doing UMF two of my favorites.
True VMAX,
But, his show was always about him fishing BASS. If he doesn't get an exemption, or requalify through the "opens" (can't remember the new name), he won't have a tour to fish if he can't go FLW, unless he does the new Southern and Central Opens, and they only have three tournaments each. So, if he only fished one, he would only have three episodes, six at the most if he fishes both. Maybe he could fish the Midwest Sportsman or something I guess, but would that have the same prestige and drawing power?
For angler on tour to continue with the format of following an angler fishing a particular tour, he has to be fishing one of them. Now he could change his format perhaps, and follow other touring anglers. That would be interesting. Maybe a different angler each week? Or pick one and follow him for a year, then another the next year? I can see some attractivness to that, but he would likely then have to pay those other anglers, unless he picks obscure anglers that no one really knows much about.

If I had known he was a big UofL fan, he would have been my favorite fisherman.
Where did you send me an email too? I just got back in town and don't recall seeing it.
Matt
I heard this weekend that more than likely Joe will be fishing the FLW and/or FLW Series.
