I am not sure of the difference between the "first edition" and the other one listed for about #10.00 less. The "Home Studfy Course" is well worth the money but really just expands on what is in the SPOONPUGGING book so I would recommend getting the book first, then if you are interested in going deeper (pun intended) get the home study course.

Thanks for the compliment. I studied Pre Veternary Medine for two years and then studied Environmental Science for the last 2 years and got a BS deg in that field.

My father had the fishing bug bad. He was the one that took me out fishing when I was still a toddler. I learned a lot about fishing from him. He too was a teacher. He taught school for over 30 years and ended up retiring early due to health reasons.

It's great to see that you are teaching the kids about biology. I admire that.

Not neccessarily, depends on the time of year. You get a COLD, calm snap this time of year and the fish set up SHALLOW, alot of times in vegation or wood, whatever cover is available. You dont realize it because they become almost impossible to catch but they are there, I learned this valuable lesson last december, we had a huge front and cold snap. Caught MONSTERS in 1' of water for three straight blue-bird days. The only bad part was we caught them on minnows while crappie fishing. After reflecting on it, I bet they would have bit the FnF rigged real shallow, maybe...
As far as DO, once the thermcline breaks up and turnover begins, its role is insignificant, they will be with the bait.
