Loomis vs Falcon

Thanks to all that have replied. My next question is there much of a difference in the glx vs imx. Is there that big in sensitivity vs money spent? I 'm sold on getting a few loomis rods. Thanks Ryan.

Big..........but I'm not sure $150.00 big..........Like I said, I don't have any GLX rods, but have used them.

the IMX rods are teh BEST I've used, outside of the GLX, but I simply don't want to have $350.00 in a ROD only...........actually I think they are more like $395.00.......you get my drift.

I have not used a warrior rod, so I honestly could not tell you how they compare. The website is down right now, hes making some changes. If you like to see one or try it let me know. I'll take you to the lake and let you try one or all them out. Just let me know.

I have an IMX and it's light and plenty sensitive, I can't tell you if the GLX is much better because like GeoFisher I just can't bring myself to spend that much on a rod, especially when I'm perfectly happy with my IMX. After I take my focus off of hunting season and get back to fishing next spring I hope to buy another.

Junktro, What I'd really like is information on their products. I.E. warranty, rod selection, sales reps. etc.
If you're pro-staff you should be able to send me that info.

I've got 2's,3's,IMX and GLX's... I prefer the glx's over them all just not the price. The Loomis rods are great however it's not a fair comparison to the Falcons a better comparison would be the St. Croix Legend series this rod compares very well in performance and warranty to the glx for about 100 bucks less. Their are also several custom builders on the net who can build you exactly what you want, the reason I mention this is everybody thinks Loomis is the holy grail of rods while there are several blanks made by other companys that are as good or better(Shikari,Rogue,St croix). Yes I do have the Loomis's but started building rods last year and have learned alot about blanks,If you wanted to save some money you can buy the loomis blanks and build them a little cheaper...plus it gives you something to do in the winter! Just my .02

That was my intention. I have built my first rod and I'm looking to build otheres. I did not know if I there was a huge difference in rods. I have always wanted a loomis but did not want to spend the extra money if there is no reason. Have you built some of these other rod blanks? How do they compare to the loomis blank. Everyone I talk with says loomis is the only rod to build, but that is what they sell. Thakns Ryan Scanlan

I can say this,as far as fatigue and sensitivity they are great.i have none because i can't afford them,but i have used my uncles just to compare and they are goood,much lighter than my falcon xg's.can't say they make me catch more fish because i watch my line and usually i set the hook before the feel gets through the rod.i have honed my line watching skills by tightlining jigs for crappie in deep water.If you watch the line and not wait for the feel in the rod the rod doesn't have to be that good,just your eyes and reflexes.my uncle will tell you he don't catch more than me because of the rods,i have put all 5 in the well in some tourneys someimes he does.

You have to be really careful buying the Loomis blanks usually their not very straight, I've built on the Shakari blank and I think their high end model is as good as a Loomis (weight,sens.) :-)
