I have a 180 reata that came with a 150 v-Max. It has a 4 blade and will hit 60 (on a good day) with me only and a full tank. Runs 55 with no sweat.

I have a 18.6 astro with a Merc XR6 150 with a Quad pump on it and I run a high five prop. This boat GPS at 73.7 mph. at 6200 rpms. I dont think your going to get much more out of that motor. Its the boat. Rangers are SLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really appreciate all the info, Im new to the game so im learning.
I took my boat to taylorsville lake on friday, (by the way i caught 8 crappie all about 10 inches).
Wide open throttle i was cranking about 5600 rpm;s and barely hitting 43 mph. My prop is 5 blades and the pitch is 21, Im hoping this is why i cant get any speed.
Im changing props asap, so i will keep you guys posted.
The ranger cant be that much slower than the other fish and skis can it?
Thanks,
Steve
Just curious if the speed was GPS or your boats speedo? RPM's are right for your engine. 3 blade would be my choice. E-Mail Dixie Marine in Fairfield, Ohio.
