I guess all the f-150's I see driving down the road in the rain are flintstone powered....LOL....try some di-electric grease, you did put it on there when you changed the plugs ....right?
Amazing how all the mechanics pop up when someone post that his 7 yr old truck has went thru 3 set's of brake pads.... with no mention of miles,if he pulls anything with it, if it's been wrecked etc...
The new mechanic was the best suggestion

If your trucks "bounces" that much during a stop, I would say you have some warped rotors. Us, boaters tow more then the average person, which only causes the rotors to heat up even more when we brake. The constant heating or extreme heating and cooling can cause warpage of the rotor over time. The best thing to do is have the rotor thickness checked with a micrometer and see if the rotors are thick enough to have them machined. The bad part about that on your truck is rotor removal. Ford did not have a "better idea" when they designed these hubs and rotors. It usually takes a very large hammer and a destroyed rotor before it comes off. Anyways, I am just preparing you for rotor replacement. While you have it apart, inspect calipers and the caliper slides to make sure they are not sticking and also to make sure the caliper piston pushes back ok and not stuck. Replace the pads and you should be good.

Rotors are the first thing to consider if it is a pulsating pedal. Rotors on any vehicle are almost throwaways anymore. Another thing to think about is your wheel sensors on your ABS system. If it is more of a vibrating pedal and the shake comes at a relatively consistent speed, it could be a wheel sensor. Your ABS light does not have to be on for this to happen.

Just to add my two cents, I have a 1998 F-150 extra cab with 80,000 miles. I just spent $2000 replacing the transmission. This is my 4th Ford Truck in 20 years, and until this one I never had a major problem and loved my Ford trucks. But this combined with my wife's windstar that went through 3 head gaskets (1 every 30k miles) the quality just seems to have gone away. I'll be hard pressed not to go Toyota next time.

I don't have a ford but my 2000 gmc started getting pedal bounce and trouble with stops at low speed and found out like tucker said 'the abs sensors wher dirty and so couldn't read right. besure to check those.

I just replaced my brakes with wagoners (spelling??) and they work great. No more pedal bounce. But fords like new rotors, they don't like to be turned even if they are within legal specs.

I have a 99' 150 salvage title,50k miles no trouble at all, ....But Look at the driver side door at the bottom right of the window,it will have a small crack in the door skin! All I have checked were torn ( singal door cabs)!
