Re: Gizz 4 shad
Hey Mark, that action has been developed over years of testing, this is just one (two!;) ) examples of what that "rather bland" action will do to fish:

Heck, one more:

Hey don't get me wrong I was not trying to put down the lure as I really liked it and plan to buy a couple of new colors. Netboy my buddy caught a 27 inch striper in the first 30 minutes out of the box the other day and we were both very impressed with the lure. What I was trying to say was I imagined this bait with a bigger wobble, but I was really liking the jerk action of the bait when I put the snap to it in the water. I'm looking forward to buying the deeper lip Gizz4 as I'm sure this will be a killer. Sorry if I offended it was not my intent.

We really do want to see the leaker, and really do want to take care of our customers, we'll back these lures up 100%.
If we can look at the lure, we may be able to pinpoint if our process isn't 100%, and can help prevent future leakers and other malfunctions.
As for the deep diver, it's coming real soon, I've fished a couple from the current mold, they want to tweak the lip to get optimum action, so it'll be a couple weeks still
God Bless

Re: Gizz 4 shad
The Gizz 4 in my opinion has a wiggle similar to a Lillte Mac. That is what we were shooting for. Personally I don't care for a big wobble. I prefer a tight wiggle with plenty of vibration and of course a big knocker. I have'nt had the chance to do much trolling (or fishing for that matter, too many lures to make), but I do know of people that have trolled it and it has caught fish for them. We ran into a fellow on Lake Cumberland last fall that had caught only one striper that day and it was a 14 or 15 lb striper caught behind a downrigger. Not many people know that this lure can be worked like a jerkbait also. That's me in the picture that LMJ posted, and both those smallmouths were caught using a jerkbait action. By the way, anyone want to give me an idea of how much those two smallmouths weigh?
Many people have enquired about the deep diver. It will be available in a few months if everything goes well. We have already caught stripers up to 16 lb casting the deep diver prototype to the banks at night.
Everyone is different when it comes to the action of lure they prefer. Some like a big wobble and some like a tight wiggle. The Gizz 4 is somewhere in between. The fish don't seem to care. We have caught all kinds of fish both fresh and saltwater on this lure. All I know is the Gizz 4 is the best looking, most realistic crankbait in my box. It's all about confidence.

I'll tell him for sure and he can do what he wants from there. Sounds to me like you guys are running a first rate company. If I may make a suggestion is to try to get your product up here in the Louisville area market, I'm sure the level of sales would be worth it. You've certainly got a new customer in me and my fishing partner.

Re: Gizz 4 shad
Both of those fish are still swimming and I know right where they live! That was the best double header I've been involved with. Both fish were caught on the Gizz 4. I have no idea how much they weighed. We took quick pictures and released as soon as possible. I was guessing around 5 LB, so I guess it had to be close to that. It was a 5 thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

Hey, help me ID some tackle shops in your area, Louisville and I'll make contact and let the owners go from there.
We seem to have Gizz4mania on right now in the Cumberland area, would love to see it in Louisville and anywhere else the fish are chasing Gizzard shad or other live minnow crankbaits!

Oh, and Scott, them's minners, 5 lbs my bottom lip! You stuck them up so near the camera they look like 20 or so pounds each, sheesh! ;)

Re: Gizz 4 shad
Now that's what I call copying Nature using High Tech methods.
A perfectly formed artifical bait. Good to see people using copying nature.
Velcro is a copy of the Cockle Burs found in nature.
This sounds like a good bait.
I was crappie fishing with a plain old hook and minnow yesterday and somehow managed to hook a gizzard shad in the side with the crappie hook. The gizzard shad was only about 3" long. Must be a young shad.
I have 3 or 4 Gizz 4 Shad lures and they are good. I have not caught any stripers with them yet, but I have caught some nice bass. They do troll well behind planer boards. I'm sure they will catch stripers well! I spoke with one of the owners of the company and the took a mold from a shad to make this lure. Check out their website at http://www.smacktackle.com/. Good luck!
Smyrna Bait and Tackle, check my spelling on the Smyrna thing. Pepper Tackle on Dixie Highway. ****'s Sporting Goods on Westport Road and US 60. Don't know how you feel about the big box stores. I feel sure Gary at Smyrna would be interested in your baits. Maybe ole Jimbo Dicken can stick in a good word for ya. Hope this helps a little. Hey another thought would be for you to go in person and pitch your lures to the Bass Pro in Clarksville Ind. Most Bass Pro Shops are very eager to put local fish catching things on there shelves. There are plenty of stripers, whites and hybrids in the Ohio River, and Patoka in Indiana has stripers also. Good luck, you are definetely on to something big with this bait that's for sure.
