JB weld will work. I have used JB weld on these boats for years. I have fixed leaks that ran out like a water hose. This stuff works great for an aluminum boat. I would use it before I ever tried to weld it.

Hey worm, they guys have gave you a bunch of ideas,,I think most will fail with in a yrs,,the alum is so slick and the flex of your weight will just pop it all off in no time..you can bring it out here and I can easly pull back the carpet and rivet the brace with a few extra rivets and put your carpet back on and it`ll look just like it does,,,but be fixed right the first time..I live just outside of shepherdsville so we are close.. I wont charge ya much..I just hate for somebody to not fix a boat right. I`ll help ya out.
