[QUOTE=fishrgurl;311641]Honestly, this fish was pretty long and thin. Not sure that it was the healthiest fish ever. It may have been pretty old and on the decline. We kind of fumbled around measuring it, so it may have only been 21". The 17.5" I caught last week might have weighed just as much.
Here's a pic of the 22"

And here's the 17.5"

I don't really like messing around with weighing them. I want to get them back in the water as quick as I can.

Man, you are right that was a skinny fish and as you said may not have been too healthy. I don't weigh any unless they are worthy, just be quick and handle them properly and they are fine.

Hey no fair smljaw with the Mexico thing. I'm calling foul, man I wish I could fish that lake just once, I'm jealous can you tell?
I know, I know... I almost didn't post that BIG PIG. But I just had to do it since it was my "fish of the year."
Fishing El Salto has been an amazing experience. I have been extremely blessed and fortunate in being able to fish that lake 3 times. I am a LM fisherman at heart and El Salto was created for the LM purest. Big, strong bass are everywhere in that lake!!! I've had 2 over 8, 2 over 9, 1 over 10 and 1 over 11 from El Salto... All of the hawgs came from 2 of my trips there (July 2005 & July 2007). The other trip was poor fishing (mid September 2006) due to Cat 3 hurricane conditions.
3lb 8oz at a tournament at Nolin.
40 inch striper (26-27 pounds) at Cumberland a few weeks back on a home made plug.
Andrew
Sorry, not another 40 inch fish for me and my fish certainly want hit the record books, just my notebook. But, first time in my life fishing for crappie in Kentucky’s Lake Barkley, I finally caught a few fish this past April that I was willing to take home. Please don’t ask me how large the were , let’s just say a few keepers in the 13 - 15 inch range using minnows under slip bobbers (in/near laydowns). And hey, they did fry up nice that night back at the hotel, GOOD, GOOD!
Good Fishing to all,
Gary
