Good luck,

Did you catch those hogs on c-land? Man you are one of over 20 People that I have talked to that normanlly wack em on the fly that has had a day like that this year. That certainly was a good day. But how many days did you not do any good. That is what I use as a gauge to determine if a pattern is working or is just a fluke.......(not the bait) lol

Those guys could catch'em out of the big C if there was only 10 fish left in the whole lake, lol. They have got some magic spots, it pays to fish a lake ALL the time that's for sure.

They were on Cumberland. I had more than one good day. I did catch 5+ smallie and 4.10 largemouth one day. I was catching limits of a mix of smallie keepers, largemouth, and Ky's. Most of the fish came fishing only 5-7 feet deep in the creeks. I do disagree on whether a pattern is working if you catch them ALL the time or not. NO ONE BAIT will catch them all the time. I've been fishing the fly 8 years now and it will WACK them at times. However, it's not the only bait I throw in the winter. I love to crank and jig but the fly produces BIG fish in most situations when the water if below 50.
I don't know the lake as well as some, but I usually catch a few. mhall, the fly is NOT a fluke.....I'm just on here tellin' guys about a different way to catch BIG fish......not a MAGIC bait just a time proven technique to catch fish. There's a time and place for everything and I won't limit myself to just one frame of mind.
Good luck and see ya'll on the water,
Tim

Re: C-land report 3/16 & 3/17
I want everybody to know that I am fully aware that the fly will catch fish when all else fails in water below 50 degrees. I am not a fnf hater and I will fish it if necessary. All that being said it bores me to almost tears. I'm hyper and mainly a power fisherman. I am improving year after year on my finesse fishing. But believe me if I think I can catch them on something besides the fly I'll probably be fishing it, sorry, it's just a preference thing.
