Larry, I respect your efforts and those of labor unions. It's not my intent to belittle, as mentioned I'm largely ignorant on the subject. Obviously to most American consumers, pricing is more important than making sure products are made in the USA. Guilty as charged, but in my defense I've spent more for American products in some cases, and I refuse to buy a Japanese truck.
I didn't see the movie, but I think the "greed is good" line was meant as serious parody of the mind set of stock market players and financiers. Greed, at least to some degree is a flaw the overwhelming majority of us share.
I concede your point apb. Reps are by default for a smaller government than the Dems though, and I guess I'll have to to take what I can get. Thought it over and don't get the irony of an airport named after Reagan...?
Don, you're a right wing old white guy.
Dh your right again....except that I'm not 100% old or 100% white but I do hang with the right wing ideas....well.....90% of the time! Ha Ha
"Thought it over and don't get the irony of an airport named after Reagan...?"
He fired a bunch of airport workers, and then later an airport was named after him.

Define Japanese vs American truck? I mean, aren't all of the Toyota trucks that are bought in America also made here (i.e., employ American labor to build them)? I also seem to remember a Toyota plant here in KY making a number of cars for the US market. Don't GM and Ford have plants in Canada and Mexico that put a number of their vehicles together, or at least make a lot of the parts? Not quite so black and white is it?
Andrew
Very few things are black and white. Here's my rule of thumb. Toyota is a Japanese corporation, their profits go to Japan, GM is an American corporation their profits stay in the US. Maybe oversimplified a bit, but close enough for me.
That should read 300 million and 545 We the voters must take the blame also those who sit in silence share the blame of those who commit the sin. I could write a book on this and I might after I get back from the VA Med Center in Nashville. We voted these fools in and gave them the power to do or not to do as they see fit. so alot more to follow later today. That's if I don't run out of gas on the way home after driving 200 miles for a 15 minute appointment.
They also had a stamp with reagan on it. It , the picture, was on the glue side
