Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
Boats will continue to go down in price and dropping everyday!!!!
I would seriously look into Basscat boats. Saw on their website that they have a "spring Fling: sale. 19' boat 200 hp------around $28,000
Definitely call John Webb----he can get you in just about anything with Bullet being his specialty and Legend being a new line he just picked up. Legend boats sure do look nice!!!!! I am definitely considering them
Then you have your Ranger,Triton and Skeeters----always good to buy name brands and the market is flooded with them for sale right now.
I would have to look for a Ranger in either a R93 series or something in the 520 series!!!!
Good Luck!
I would stick with Mercury for sure!!!!
Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
ALL of you are forgetting about the 1 boat that in my opinion is just as good or better than a ranger and all the others listed! CHAMPION is one of the best in my opinion! But Opinions are like A**holes.... everyone has got one..lol Check out champions website, you will like what you see. I have one and it is an awsome boat
Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
www.daysboatsales.com is another place you might want to look at. Got plenty of used boat at the price you are will to spend. Got all the name brands as well.
Fish Hard!
Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
Remember this one plain truth. A boat is a hole in the water that you keep throwing money into.If your tow vechicle is rather new and dependable, go for a bigger boat. If you are going to be towing this for a lot of miles, fuel prices are not going to go down.and what kind of fishing do you LIKE?For all practical purposes, a boat is a luxury, they are never practical.Another thing to consider is ease of launching, and how often you will be using this thing. But get what you like, you have to fish out of it.
Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
I went the triton route, and could not be happier. Everyone that rides in my boat is surprised by the smooth ride (I live in Ranger country). I went with Triton for the same reasons you mentioned ($$$$$ - when compared to Ranger). Rangers fish a little steadier, but they don't handle the rough water ride near as good as a triton. Plus it is fun on shotgun tournament take-offs leaving a bunch of Rangers in your wake - they can't keep up with the triton. It is all personal preference, I would shop around. Call the dealers down here (Jetta and Sportsman's edge - they usually have some good used boats that have been traded in.

Wishiniwasfishen you have private message.
Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
1. bass cat, 2. ranger, 3. triton, you have to work your best deal, and what fit's your needs and style of fishing. Just my opinion, best of luck pal.
Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will definetly be selective, and not buy the first pretty boat i see. I may even wait to winter, heard you can get a better deal then.
Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
As the name suggests, I own a Skeeter and would not own another brand. There are Ranger, Triton, Champion, Nitro and Stratus owners that feel just as loyal to their brand as I do to Skeeter...So, make sure you shop around and make sure the boat fits you ( i.e legroom) and that you feel comfortable operating the boat because all reputable dealers will take you out on the water in your future purchase (or they should). The name on the side of the boat don't mean squat if it's miserable for you to ride/fish in. (remember...Skeeter invented the bassboat, all the others are just trying to catch up..wink,wink,nudge,nudge..Eat,Sleep, Fish....LOL)

Wishiniwasfishin, you have a PM
Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
If you are fishing Tournaments with Tracker Money in them I would look at a PRO Craft or Nitro it does pay to fish out of one.
Re: Everyone's opinon wanted
skeeter makes a good point. I've always been a fan of Ranger, fishing the great lakes,Plus i grew up fishing from one. But whenever the tournament is over the skeeter guys are always dry...That tells me it is indeed a nicer ride. As far as fishing from one I don't know.
