Re: cant rely on people
What if they show up on time with the truck and boat. but then lock there keys in the truck. ha ha
Dang! That happened to us this weekend. It was just as funny that I never thought of using my truck to take you to get your spare key. Even after you worked on trying to brake into your truck it never crossed my mind. I'm glad you thought of it when you did, cause the next thing you were going to do was brake the window. That would have been expensive.
This was ok. Oversleeping is a different story.

Re: cant rely on people
Had a guy offer to help me load my boat and me to help load his. We got my boat trailered and then I backed his truck down the ramp, got out, shut the door and locked his keys in the truck.....duh! It was one of them that automatically locks when you shut the door. I had thrown the keys up on the dash. He had to call and wake up his wife at 2:00 am and she wasn't happy!

Re: cant rely on people
First, for safety sake I always roll my window DOWN when loading or unloading trailer. That also insures that I'll never lock myself out of my vehicle.

Re: cant rely on people
my grown son overslept one morning and called me he has a 1 hour drive and he told me to go on he would catch me at the ramp. He gets there after I had unloaded and just started to idle away. He stopped and bought me a bottle of JD as a peace offering I always did luv that boy

Re: cant rely on people
1. Find freinds who like to fish as much as you do (I have 4 or 5 I can count on).
2. If someone does stand you up, have grace and patience for their situation. My cousin and I had issues with this for a while. He "gets it" and does the right thing now. We've had some good trips together lately...

Re: cant rely on people
Had a friend who did not show, so I drove to his house and he said he could not go, he could have called but did not. I went anyway. had a very good day and caught an 11lb bass and several others smallest was around three. He missed out but no hard feelings. I usually go by myself also, but would have liked to have had a camera person that day.

Re: cant rely on people
I am ready to go and always meet my partners on time or early. If someone is late, then there heart isn't in it and probably don't fish as well.

Re: cant rely on people
I got rid of a long time buddy who didn't show up twice and never called. First time I gritted my teeth. Second time said it wont happen again.
