Re: Kentucky and Barkley conditions
Thanks for the clarification. What was the winning weight for the ALS tourney? I just talked to one of my friends and he had an 8 yesterday evening on Ky. That is one big fish for this time of year. It will be interesting to see how the Elite guys do this week. I am getting a lot of ledge fish but like said above...numbers of short fish and some 3, 4, 5 and occassional 6.
Dave I fished the free tourney Saturday there was a 7 lb 12 oz weighed in as I was coming through the line. There was three weights over 22 lbs and one over 23 lbs. I had fourteen lbs and couldnt land a gaint at the end of the day. My Partner was Caleb Cheeser ( 16 years old) and it was his first tourney. He said I should go one here say thanks for a great fishing report. We used it in practice as base line and found some good fish. He caught a 4 lb 12 oz fish on our best bank. Thanks again !
Re: Kentucky and Barkley conditions
Thanks for the kind words about my report....I spend a lot of time each week trying to make sure it is as accurate as I can make it from the information I have available. It is nice to know it is appreciated.
It is not a normal thing to have a 10lb fish brought to the scales here but I have seen it happen...and have seen more than a few 10lb fish taken here that were not caught in tournaments over the years. I do know personally of one over 10lbs that was caught in July 3 years ago on Barkley and one over 10 lbs that was caught on Ky early last fall...this is not a normal occurance but it does happen. Definitely most of the fish over 8lbs are caught here in March more than anytime of the year.
