Re: need an Elwood fix...
Hey elwood,
Dave hit the nail on the head. You and your family will definatly be in my familys thoughts and prayers tonight and tomorrow. You all need anything at all give me a call. Hopefully i can get up there to see you in a day or two. Speedy recovery and hopefully this is the last you get to see of a hospital for a long, long , long time. Take care my friend and I will see you soon.
Re: need an Elwood fix...
Thanks for all the post and phone calls the past couple of days. Sure do wish I was slinging a 1 oz Big Single Colorado Spinnerbait at Dale or Ky with the full moon tonight instead of getting ready for you know what but you have to play the hand that is dealt to you. Funny what you can get used to if you have to. Thanks again for all the support and hopefully I will be ready for FNF season come December, maybe even push it a bit and hit the Big C for some topwater Striper action in Late October and November. Whatever happens, happens but sure do appreciate all the friendships that I have made thru this site. Overall a pretty good bunch of guys here and I am lucky to have the support of many. Heres hoping to see you on the water some time sooner, later or whenever. Elwood

I'll get a phonecall hopefully this evening. Heck may just show up down there. But either way I'll let you guys know something.
Hey Elwood, I read this morning where Big Borwns owner turned down an invite that could've possilby set him up against Curlin.
Re: need an Elwood fix...
Billy,
Where did you read that? That would be golden for everyone. Any reasons....can I look it up on the web? PM me if you get the chance. ...Just read it....the Woodward Stakes.

Thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers. Hopefully I will talk to you all soon.
Billy, Big Brown's owners want no part of Curlin. Big Brown is beating the crap out of a WEAK 3 year old crop and they are wanting to make him the next Secretariat. In the Haskell he barely ran down Coal Cool Man that had won only 2 races in his lifetime after that horse had run killer fractions early and was so leg weary late that I could have ran him down POST-OP. Sorry to dissappoint all but Big Brown is overrated and we will all find out soon. If Curlin's owners get off this Turf gig in the hopes of winning the best grass race in Europe and leaves him on the dirt then the Classic is where they will have to meet. My bet is Big Brown comes up with some "injury" just before the Classic if Curlin is going to run in it because it will look better on the breeding dollars next year for him to have not to run versus getting it handed to him if he does come up against Curlin. All Curlin did last out was try the turf for the first time on a less than firm ground, was parked wide on both turns, and still only came up a couple lengths short of beating Red Rocks the 2006 Turf Classic Champion on Breeders Cup day and an EXCELLENT horse in that. Curlin's owners are eyeing the MONEY and that is the reason to try the turf and with the Prix in Europe. Curlin is also pointing to defend in Dubai's $6 million classic, the same race he won this year, plus Japan is offering appearance money if he comes there to race on their biggest day as well. Big Brown's owners had better beware of Curlin and you all can say you heard it first, if they ever do meet Curlin wins and it won't be pretty.
Time to leave for the hospital now so thanks again for all they support and hope to see you all on the water sooner or later.
