No matter the weather, you still have major pest infestations on lakes. If you hate jet skis, then you should try ice fishing on some big lakes in michigan or wisconson, the snow mobile crowd is just as offensive as jet skis.
Dang Chopper, I had my first one done in 2001, 2nd re-do in 2002 and since the first two didn't heal right I had to have it all done again in 2003....Steel rods and screws as well with fusion of the 3 lower disc's...Been messed up ever since and live on pain meds since they can't help me any further with the back problems.....Can you say Morphine and Hydrocodone on a daily basis......:(
Not trying to hi-jack this thread but the wife of a friend if mine just had an epidural that is for pain management. She has all the stuff that you guys have mentioned. The epidural blocks the sensitive nerves and eliminates the pain. You might want to look into it. She says she feels better this way and she's not all jacked up on pain meds.

They tried that on me before surgury, never did anything at all for me, surgury or live in pain was the answer, I had lost almost 2" of muscle on my left calf by then. 3 fusions? Man, one almost killed me! I try not to take pain meds except advil and sometimes darvocet. while in the hospital they gave me oxycotin.. that stuff should be banned! I was tripping out seeing things, thought I was on a bus and they wouldn't let me off, thought I was riding in a pick up and bugs were getting in my face.. I was flipping out! Thank the good lord that was only 3 days worth ( 5 days in hospital)
Like wow man, can you buy that stuff?
Been there done that! I would rather be hot than cold while fishing. I'm gonna try more Winter fishing this year to really see what it has to offer.
As a preacher man says alot....Amen brother
You can get Oxycotton with a prescription. My daughter had it for a knee problem the Dr. did not tell her of the side effect and she ended up in the emergency room. She had quit eating. She went home and flushed it down the toilet. I agree should be banned.
I love summer, just hate the crowded lakes. It seems like the pleasure boaters lose a little more common sense every year. I usually don't hit the lakes here on the weekends, but the weather was too nice not to last weekend. I had to wait 30 minutes to launch because a truck with a 40 foot trailer was parked in the ready lane, making everyone funnel through and back up. I had to come off plane twice on the way to my spot because jet skiiers were too busy jumping wake to watch for other boats. Then a 40+ foot cruiser came within 30 feet of me fishing. After it passed I started fishing again, forgetting about the wake, which threw me in the lake (a prime example of why I don't have guns in the boat). This was a bad day, but somewhat typical for the summers here.
I guess I am just ready for some jacket weather with the lake to myself and fellow fisherman.
I hear you about being on the lake in the summer... With the back problems i have i dont go to the lake on weekends or during the day... It gets crazy stupid out there. Im ready for the cooler weather and less traffic also...
As long as it's not below 60 degree's I can fish, but bundle up with a couple of layers to make sure I don't get a chill in my back....Love the fall fishing...nothing like slowly winding a buzz bait across the water by some nearby stumps or lay downs....... Woot Hoooot.....:)
I can put more on than I can take off ( and I have 47 pounds of titaminum and screws holding me together) bring on the 60 minus days and i am happy happy happy. Fall on barren is majical. I always said if I didnt have to work Id fish all the time. Now I have time and cant afford to fish
I normally hate summer but have to admit this has been a very nice one. Used the A/C less this year than any I can remember.
Well, I too love fall fishing but on Ky and Barkley Lakes in late September into October this place is loaded with bass club regionals and classics etc. Alot of guys come from literally hundreds of miles away to fish their respective tournies and some seem to leave some manners and/or etiquite at home. at any given time you'll have as little as 200 to as much as 700-800+ boats all fishing these events in the same day or at the same time, through the week we have practices and weekends all out war. Granted I would rather fish with them or around them running and gunning than a 40 footer coming 30 ft from me and don't get me started on jet skis in the backs of coves (where we're hiding from them), but to say the least it makes for hectict fishing at times. Now November, February and March it is blissfull especially with the size fish coming in shallow so early this year. So - October fisherman please be care on these lakes!
i hate the summer it gets way to hot, i hate the winter because it gets to cold, is it just me or does it seem like it gets more hot or colder then it used to when you was younger. it seems like when i was younger i cant remember getting so hot as i do now. i cant hardley do anything with out sweat pouring off of me. i love fall it is my favorite time of year. you got fishing, football, and fishing.
sorry to hear about you guys who cant fish when it gets cold because the winter is the best fishing as much as i hate cold weather the fishing is out standing. my best fishing days have ben in the winter. i hope one day they can fix people with proublems with cold weather maybe a pill or something so they can injoy some good fishing
