Wind Damage

My neighbor just called and said the electric is back on at my house...Thanks Shelby electric.. for those wondering I live off Blakemore Ln. in Lagrange. Hope everybody has the same luck... Chuck

What I want to know is where was the warning? People may not get power back for over a week. Driving to work there were downed trees and power lines everywhere. From what I hear the damage is widespread. You'd think maybe one of the local news stations might have mentioned this beforehand.........

WOW, I just watched a segment on the damage in L-ville and it looks aweful. I feel for you guys over there. We had nothing near the damage you had.

Boone,Kenton,and Campbell counties still without power.531,000 people in the Greater Cincy area without electric,Duke bringing in help from the Carolina's today,Beshear was here yesterday and declared a State of emergency.I guess at least it's cool and not 90 degrees and humid.
Schools and jobs still shutdown.

Here is the storm at its peak from my back deck. One heck of a dust storm. No dammage, but all kinds of thngs blown arround. Quite a dust storm.

Keep on chuckin'

Lost a big pine tree, had some metal blow off on of my sheds, tons of limbs down, was with out power over 12 hrs, but no one hurt or injured here, cept my back is killing me from running chain saw all day yesterday, pine tress have a lot of branches, lol. Looks like L ville got hit hard and Owensboro still is without power in places, but with all the damage thankfully no one hurt bad around here so not all bad.

How's this for not smart?

Our club fished Sunday on Barkley during Ike. The forecast as we heard it was for 40 mph winds, but they were far more vicious than that. We all found various coves to hide in and fished through it. Me and the guy I was with had to wear our sunglasses there was so much trash flying in the air. We also had to stay well off the bank for fear a tree would fall on us. We came out of it fine, just a bunch of backlashes and a boat full of leaves and branches. After things settled down and we were able to change spots we saw tons of downed trees and wind damage, not to mention the trees that were felled around the cove we were in.

Caught a 2 pounder out of a brushpile during the worst of it, so I can now truthfully claim to have caught a keeper in a hurricane.

We lost a big tree and barely missed the house. Scratched up my ole Chevy truck. Roughed up some shingles and destroyed my neighbors roof. In the process it slung his shingles against the side of my house with such force it broke some holes in my vinyl siding. Had to call the insurance man, boys it was wild here for sure. I have never in my life seen or heard wind anything like that, it was horrible.

Mark, I was kinda worried about you. Didn't see you on the board till late today I figured somethin was up! Do you have electric? Chuck

Yes we are one of the lucky ones and do have juice. Thanks for the thought ole buddy.

Tyme is finally back on line. Lost power on Sunday and finally got it restored on Wednesday at 8:07 PM.

I've got portions (big slabs, etc) of at least 18 trees damaged and blown down on my 5 acres.

Neighbors came together and chain saws came out to clear Tom Evans Road immediately after the storm blow thru.

Mrs. Tyme and I cooked on the gas grill for 3 nights, utilized my fishing gear for lights,etc.

Brought in the outside landscape lights for enterior lighting once the sun went down.

Country boys can survide.

I'm now waiting for the electric water heater to get enough hot water to take a shower on Thursday morning. Ya might not see me, but ya can sure smell me.!!!!
