Re: Vandals at Nolin
Man whats next? Do we need armed guards at the ramps? Will medium to large tournies have hired guards there to protect the equipment? I know I would pay a little to be able to park at a ramp with a guard to watch my equipment. I bet if a ramp existed with a guard on staff that parking lot would fill up up quick. What would you guys pay, $10? I would.
Another idea is that there should be a parking lot for vehicles with trailers only, no cars or trucks. That would make it harder for these fools but again we would need an official to watch it.

Re: Vandals at Nolin
It would be nice to catch a few of these folks and use them for fish bait. It would be hard to catch someone doing this. My guess is there is more than one person one or two working or rather stealing and a look out.
Why truck tailgates? Do body shops need that many of them or are they using them for scrap?

Re: Vandals at Nolin
I work at a body shop and there isn't that big of shortage of tailgates....people are taking them for scrap metal and because they are easy access....can have one popped off in less than a minute

Fishin4kids - It would be my guess the only reason the didn't steal the lawn mower along with the golf cart is because the lawn mower was a representation of work, the morons were probably afraid if someone knew they had a lawn mower that someone might actually ask them to use it.

You hit the nail on the head, Chub. With that four letter word WORK!

Re: Vandals at Nolin
Why can't the law inforcement set up sting operations. I am sure it would not take long to tape someone taking something. What about solar/battery powered camers.

Re: Vandals at Nolin
Primarly due to the fact that this country is in a meltdown financily there is not enough funds for extra patrols, routes, stings, and the OT that goes with it. The crooks know this apparetlly, as these sort of crimes are on the increase it seems. I do know about Beaver Creek, it was and maybe still is party central at night and not well patroled. People are starting to get despert, and crime is on the increase, esp in my area. People drilling holes in gas tanks, stealing copper from heating and air units, statues, any and everything that can get their hands on. This sorta stuff is getting out if control. But one thing I might add though, is that a lot more of these kind of crimes have increased since that infux of illegals in this area esp. Not pointing fingers or stero typing,or r racist, but just stating an observation. Any one else notice this?

Camera/video surveilance is a great idea and quality/price of this security is becoming much more reasonable. This is a necessity for honest folks.
When you confront a crack head stealing something from you....you better be pack'n at least a 45....something with stopping power.

My feeling is that because the legal system has gotten so relaxed on these losers that they have nothing to lose by getting caught. I bet if they were made to pick up trash 10 hours a day and live with no cable and eat only plain meals and take away alot of other perks people might think twice. They need to be punished not put in time out. Make them work their butts off, I have a ton of ideas of how I would treat a repeat offender.
When law abiding citizens get the shaft on a constant basis from these crooks and the legal system isn't their to help I dig my heels in and get ready for a fight. I have no sympathy for these crooks I don't care about their financial woes or their race or their drug problems or their upbringing or their mental problems...I just don't care. Get caught messing with my stuff and bad things will happen. Might even call them a dirty word!
In the military when a person was caught stealing or slacking they had a free ticket to a blanket party. These parties were unfair but we didn't let that stop us(hehe). The party was always a big HIT! Problem solved each and everytime.

Re: Vandals at Nolin
Mark, I have to agree with you. In my part of the country their is no law. However, I would hate to have to shoot someone, but I can assured you the bullets I carry would meet the challenge. I would avoid that situation at all cost and that is the reason I think cameras are the way to go. Get the picture and let the law do the the rest.
