so...where are the flats that everyone speak of?im assuming out of Ikes? which direction?
The flat is a very shallow wide spot in the creek (know to the locals as Rocky Shores) it's on the Claiborne farm property a few hundred yards past the water plant. It has a very narrow chanel that is often clogged with debri, but still manuverable in most bass boats at normal pool (13.3') we are at 12' today I'm not sure if you will get thru in anything other than a flat bottom boat now or not.

If you put in at Ike's and make it past the "rocky shores" area there is another shallow spot up the creek from there that is just before you get to an overhanging dock on the left. Then another spot above the covered bridge at Stonerside farm. Hope this helps.
so, not to sound stupid, but, since im not sure which way up the creek is, ( i havent seen any current yet, since this is my first year on stoner, and i got a late start) i assume if you are looking at the water from shore, this would be to your right, going under the bridge? and im thinking i could make it, i have a 17 ft alumacraft, pretty much flat bottom, only about a 6" draft or so
Sorry I should have clarified, head under the bridge and your going up stream. The other way takes you to the dam (golf course on the right).

thanks guys, might try to make it over on saturday sometime
Just wanted to post becasue I said I would when I returned. Went out of Ike's today. Water was really clear. Duckweed is almost all the way gone. But the issue was how cold the water was. 47-51 degrees. Fished there with no luck until 11am then headed to Carnico. Caught two at Carnico in the weed beds. Sorry I can't report anything better. The water level at both places was really low. I could not believe how low it was at Stoner. Right before the big white house with the dock it was really low. Had to raise the engine and troll with the trolling motor lifted up. I'd never seen it that low.
Temps out of Frymans today were 55+- a degree. Not much luck either they were short striking the spinner bait. Lost one at the boat about 2.5lb caught 2 others 1.5 and a dink.
The main creek to the split is clear and clean, but that all changes once you get into the other 2 creeks both were fairly weedy but fishable.

Went yesterday for a few hours...duck weed is thin before the split...gets a lot worse after on both sides..the fish I was looking for were few and far between...temp was 50+- few hits on a plastic worm and one throwback.
