Re: To: Thief that broke into my boat & tried to steal it last night
I'd never say "you shouldn't have had that stuff in the boat" and no one else should either. Don't beat yourself up over that - you can't predict what thugs are going to do and hindsight is always 20/20. Sorry for your loss - keep an eye out folks the thieves are coming out of the woodwork. I just got hit up for $4000 and my best friend called me today and told me someone broke into his house and got 6 guns, jewelry, xbox, etc.
Karma - it's not just some girl at the strip club
It'll catch up to these scum, and hopefully sooner than later.
Re: To: Thief that broke into my boat & tried to steal it last night
Sorry to hear about your loss. The best thing to do at this point would be to notify pawn shops in Lexington and surrounding areas of the items you had stolen. I know this is alot of work but that can put them on alert. Most are ran by honest people and I have had good dealings with them. At the end of the month they can run a report for law enforcement. They have to present an ID in order to pawn items but they do not have to if they sell them directly to the pawn shop. Keep an eye on EBAY and Craigslist.com. I work in law enforcement in a community within 30 miles of Lexington. If you want to send me a PM with items stolen I would be happy to notify our local pawn shops for you and let you know what community I work. Hang in there and let me know if I can help.
Thanks for at least leaving the boat partially in my driveway and half in the road and not getting away with it completely. Thanks for stealing all my black lights, graphs, trolling moter, crank baits and my buzz baits... Thanks for drilling through the rod locks and ripping the carpet in the process. Thanks for taking away the one thing I have worked my entire life to afford and enjoy with my kids.... Thanks for the headaches I will have in the future from dealing with the insurance company to replace eveything that you STOLE.
The one thing I hope for you my "friend" is that someone returns the favor, because Lord knows, had I caught you in the process, they would be doing an autopsy right now on your chicken behind..... Thank the GOOD LORD ABOVE that I didnt catch you, it saved your life as well as it keeps my kids daddy around. I live in Lexington, so if anyone is approached by someone selling black lights, graphs, trolling moter and BOXES of crank baits cheap, send them my way!!!
And for those of you who will say," you shouldnt have had the stuff in the boat, I will go ahead and tell you, I couldnt afford the storage fee anymore, I am struggling to pay my bills and keep my family afloat much less spend the money on a storage area. I dont have anywhere else to keep it and I dont have room anywhere in my house for the stuff since i have a new baby and I lost my hunting/fishing room...
Again, THANKS for stealing the things i have had for years, along with baits my grandfather and father passed down to me that I was passing down to my kids... I PRAY FOR YOU I DONT FIND OUT WHO YOU ARE...

Sorry to hear the losers got you. What part of Lexington? I'm on the southeast side just wondering if I need to be extra careful.
Re: To: Thief that broke into my boat & tried to steal it last night
Sorry to hear of the thugs getting your stuff....Just remember what the cops told my dad when we got broke into when I was young...Dead men tell no lies....... Wish nothing but the best my friend and hope you can recover some or all of your stuff. especially the hand me down items of great personal value alone.
Re: To: Thief that broke into my boat & tried to steal it last night
I just saw on Craigs list(Lexington) alot of reel/rod combo's for sale. Check to see if any are yours. If not yours, they may a good buy for you.

Re: To: Thief that broke into my boat & tried to steal it last night
Thank God that didn't break into the house. I would bet this kind of stuff will get worse with the economy the way it is. The scary thing I think is that if they break into your house, gargage, boat or anywhere near your home what would happen if your kid or wife happened to catch them. God is my witness that I would much rather a thug be dead than to have to live knowing that said thug hurt my family. I think the Kentucky law is changed now. Anyone know what the law is really.

I know I am new here but I have to say that I am sorry that you lost things you worked so hard for. Thieves should be strung up and used as pinatas!!!

Re: To: Thief that broke into my boat & tried to steal it last night
Unfortunately too we are not protected from civil liabilities. :(
Actually the new law has immunity from civil action if the physical force or defensive force used was permitted by law. So no criminal or civil actions if you follow the law.
Physical force would be allowed for someone stealing from a boat but defensive force, shooting someone, would not be allowed unless the boat was in a dwelling where people could sleep.
This URL goes to the page that covers the entire law on this situation.

To everyone on here, thank you all for all of your kind words and ideas. I am following up on a bunch of them. I may never get my things back, but maybe with some luck I can catch the peron/persons responsible for it. It could have been worse, my wife and 2 daughters could have been home and the boat might have not have been the only thing they wanted to steal. I keep telling myself that, because it could have been much worse. Thank you all again for the kindness shown and the offers of help, I really appreciate it a lot. God bless and keep your family and belongs close, times are tough and I think they might get tougher.
