Re: Taylorsville? Spring?
No offense, but why even go into KY to fish? Patoka Lake is a great lake and you catch almost as many good fish as Ky or Barkley Lakes. If u must, I would go to Rough, Nolin or Barren. A toilet bowl is better than Taylorsville. I just have way better luck there in the fall than any other time. There are a few guys that do great out there, though.
Re: Taylorsville? Spring?
I'm sorry if I sounded down on Tville. Too many boats. It is one of the most fertile lakes in Ky. It just gets way too much fishing pressure during the spring and summer. Rough and Nolin are kind of that way too in my opinion. I guess that's why I stick to Patoka. I don't see near the traffic on it. I guess it's the way it's layed out. Besides I LOVE fishing grass!

Re: Taylorsville? Spring?
Phil....don't listen to all the negative posts about T-Ville! There is great bass fishing to be had here! The past 4 years, T-ville has improved greatly! I've been doing my "home-work" on the lake now, for going on 18 years. I've won my club classic two years ago with 18+pounds, a two day total (Oct.);...and I've caught 6 pigs all over 5 pounds in the two years, and got one in the net for my partner, pre-fishing that went 6.8!!!! The best time to fish T-ville for bass is March...even early March. But also fall...and even in the dead summer...in the middle of the day, at it's hottest...these are the best times to catch a limit! Also Phil....don't let the wakes from all the recereation boats get you out of your game, it's not a nigative thing. Everything I've learned about bass fishing, all my life...you can just throw out the window, when bass fishing this lake. But with time spent Phil...you just might "unlock" some secrets of the fine fishery! I get a little burnt when I here others put her down (maybe a good thing)...but my club doesn't vote it in much, becouse of the negative talk. Yes....I can blank on the lake, just like any other lake, and have...bass on this lake "behave" differnt than the norm.....
Re: Taylorsville? Spring?
You guys just keep sending people away during the end of March and 1st part of April. That way I'll have all the whites to myself in the headwaters.
I agree for the rest of the year. It's tough fishing! I grew up 15 mins from the lake and only make about 1 or 2 trips a year.
Re: Taylorsville? Spring?
Don't get me wrong. It is a good lake. I have caught 20lb bags out of it. It just gets way too much traffic and pressure. All my luck has come in spring or fall. The Game and Fish Dept says it is one of the most fertile lakes in Ky. That's where the neon green look comes from in the spring. All the algea growing in it. Each his own.

Are you REALLY SERIOUS..........Patoka is a pretty good lake at times, but it is NO WAY even in the same league as Barkley or KY.......I live about 1 hour from Patoka, and will drive the 3 or 4 hours nearly EVERY time over going to Patoka.
Now, don't get me wrong........I've caught tons of fish there, and know some really decent spots, but NO WAY can I catch the size, quantity, or QUALITY as the fish I catch at the KY or Barkley.
Call me when you have back to back to back 100 fish days on Patoka.....
