I purchased a Romanian "Guard" AKM-47 and Romanian RPK-47 Friday at 111 Gun Shop in S. Indiana and my freaking NICS was delayed! I have never been delayed. The guy at the shop told me that for like the last month they have been delaying nearly half of their customers for no reason. Anyone care to explain the reason behind that?
I knew they would go after guns but with all of the other ish that needs to be addressed first I am actually surprised to see this already being brought up. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it wont pass. Luckily there are several pro-gun dems in Congress that would like to get re-elected.
I will tell you one thing, I will NEVER register a gun. Heck, I rarely even by from FFLs cause I dont trust the form 4473. Any one seen Red Dawn :) lol.
But really, the second amendment is what makes our country so unique. We NEED to preserve it and the rest of our rights. The second amendment was not written by our founding fathers so we can shoot clay pigeons, hunt, and buy very expensive hole punchers. It was specifically put there for, "being necessary to the security of a free State" to protect our selves from enemies foreign AND domestic. The founding fathers knew that one day a time will come when we will once again have to fight an oppresive government and that we would not be able to do so if we are unarmed. No other western country has a population of civilians so armed that they would have a legitimate chance of over throwing the regime.
Guns and PEOPLE that are registered as gun owners would be the first victims of an oppressive regime. History has shown with the likes of Stalin, Hitler, and other dictators that the disarmament of its people is the FIRST step to power. The first step to disarmament is tracking the people that own the guns....registering and licensing is is JUST THAT! I am not comparing Obama to Hitler or Stalin and I dont think he wants to take over the country but legislation like this does lay a foundation for others to work on.

I am from Illinois from now on if you are to refer to Bobby Rush (D-Illinois). Please change that to Bobby Rush (D-Chicago) There is a huge difference Chicago gave us Rod Blagojevich
Ron Emanuel Barrack Obama Rev Jessie Jackson Jr. and Sr. Mayor Daley Emil Jones and the list goes on and on.
Also for your info we are one of the few states that have a FOID card and to not have a concealed carry law.
I APPOLOGIZE FOR ILLINOIS IT EMBARRAS"S ME

Tim thanks for the heads up I knew they were working on this but did not know the House Bill number I will keep up on this. We have a Chicago Democrat as the house leader he probably won't call it for a vote.
I know Mearl Justus real well he is great. He looks and acts tough but has a soft heart and a good sense of humor. He also does some stand up comedy as a speaker. Check out this web page:

For those of us that live in KY, We may have one of the best senators in this great country. Mitch McConnell.
I have written several times to our state representatives and senators about our 2nd amendment rights.
Each time I have gotten a timely response from Senator McConnell. You can check his voting records and they will show a 100% defense of our Right to bear arms.
In his response to my last issue relating to Stamping and Taxing ammunition in the state of KY. He assured me that if it made it to his level he would do his level best to get it voted down and encouraged me to contact the state reps as it would have to pass the state before it got to his level. (I had already contacted several state reps as well as the gov). Each has replied. Not sure if I liked the way Gov. Beshear answered. He was positive and encourage me to continue being involved, but never really hinted to his stance. That scared me. But I should have know.
If you are not an NRA member, I feel there is no better way to spend $35 ( annual membership). To help support our constitutional Rights. Join Today.
It will be a long battle. Support your cause (whatever it may be).

DJD, I must have bad information, but I thought Mitch has fought this "stimulus" from the beginning. Watched some of the debates on CSPAN. He battled, trying to take out some of the "ear marks" that Obama says ain't there. Anyway! I am 100% confident he has our back when it comes to the 2nd Amendment.

BB1,
I was talking about the first one when they bailed out Wall Street and the banks. I sent an email complaining to him that he jumped on board to quick without knowing the details. I think several guys on here did the same. We all got the same letter back about how this was very important and he Congress needed to act quickly.
Now we found out that they were wrong and all us average folks were right.
Yeah he is stepping up now and I like it but what bothers me is that why didn't he do that in the first one? I know, I know it's politics and he was on board with the rest of the GOP. :)

I used to help write grants for the State Mental Health Department. Maybe I could give you some pointers on the fine art of showing a need in order to obtain government funds for your trip to Bass Pro. First you enlist the aid of everyone you know who has ever been fishing and give them a form. They report all their losses for things like tournament entry fees, gas, beer, lures, cell phones, pipes, sunglasses, damaged props, lost anchors, dead batteries, worn out trolling motors, lost rods and reels, broken lines, ptsd from threats by unhappy wives/jealous girlfriends, etc. Next form says you have to list the damages you will suffer if these funds are denied; be sure to include withdrawal symptoms such as nightmares of being eaten by a world record smallmouth and hallucinations of winning a tournament. The last forms are for you to show how the county, city, and state will benefit from the use of funds to prevent death by lack of tournament participation. You stand a good chance of getting the funds if you apply for the lifetime Bass Pro treatment. The government likes red tape so the more forms you file the better your chances of getting a fishing grant. The grant money is to be equally divided with those who filled out forms but don't worry, nobody checks to see how you spent the money.
I believe the 2nd amendment lost all of its bite about 100 years ago. It doesn't mean that much anymore when the government has tanks, jets, missiles, nuclear weapons, etc.
