Re: Kennedy can barely SPELL his name, but he can still cast votes
Everyone that runs for office should have run a business. That will teach them. Someone with executive experience. These guys that start running for President while still in high school shouldn't even be considered. Voting present in the Senate for a hundred and something odd days shouldn't count either. These guys need to show us they can lead before we consider them for the highest position in the world.

I don't agree..........There have been a TON of young politicians that have done very well......I think the better solution is to ENFORCE some term limits.
Shake it up a little, and MAKE SURE limits are in place.

I'm speaking from the standpoing of being self employed and trying to start a business. I agree with the Dem congressman that for years didn't have any problems putting more government on the back of small business and then leaving congress and starting his own business. His reponse to all the government coming down on his new business in a round about way was, if I had only known. When I told my tax lady that I was self employed she informed me that my government was really going to love me. These guys don't have a clue as to what their mandates and taxes do to the people. They never have real jobs and basically spend their entire lives perfecting their career as a politition. It's all a game to them. I do know a youg fellow who is still in High School and is considering getting into politics. He is a good conservative youngster that doesn't have a clue about the real world. My advice to him is to go and find out what the heavy hand of govenrment feels like. Find a good self empoyment oppotunity and try to make it work. Try to make payroll every week. Now try to keep OSHA, Workmans Comp. ect. off your back at the same time. These guys would love to shut him down and force him to let all his help go. He will learn that success is punished in this country. After getting a good dose of government as a working man, then he would be qualified to be a leader in our government.

Amen brother! I'm with ya on this one.
Re: Kennedy can barely SPELL his name, but he can still cast votes
DJD, we need to come together to preserve the greatest country on earth. I'm done with R's and D's beside the names of our political leaders. Give me someone who understands the constitution and know what true freedom is all about. Both parties have sold us down the river. I want to get back to the way our founders thought. They had it right and they weren't standing on one foot with their heads cocked to the left and bluring their vision just to see something in there that will help some left wing group. We all need to step up and say ask not what the government can do for us, but what can we do for ourselves. Yes I put a twist on it, but my feet are firmly on the ground. I know what is right and I will take care of myself. Thank you very much. I dont think we have the right to look at our kids and grandkids and tell them sorry about your luck but I'm getting mine right now. How selfish.

Well we have a sterling example of doing nothing, and being elected, hes a former baseball pitcher, and thats all.
Re: Kennedy can barely SPELL his name, but he can still cast votes
A couple of good post Mean Morone. Probably wouldn't hurt if some of these bums also worked for the government for a short time to. It would give them an idea of how easy it will be for things to get accomplished once they've legilated them.

Yes I do think they should have some experience working the political angle. I think my young friend should try his hand at local politics, maybe on the city board. If he still has some hair left, maybe try for mayor. If he has the majority of the people upset with him, then he should try for state rep. If he has both parties upset with him, then I say he should try for Governor. Do his term then go for congress. If both parties are upset because he refuses to grow the size of Government and pushes for them to get the Governments own house in order then I say he try for senate. If he has learned anything along the way about our constitution and what the purpose for Government truely is, then I think he should run for President.
