Re: Kentucky Lake Lures Choices Early March
Here are my three lure choices...of course I am going to have more than that but you only asked for three:
Lucky Craft Pointer in Aurora Black 100 SP
Rapala Shadrap in original crawdad #7
Lewis Rattletrap or Strike King Red Eye Shad in black/red
Pointer and shadrap on main lake points and first secondary points in the creeks and bays....trap and red eye shad back shallow on warmer days with a good warm wind blowing.
Re: Kentucky Lake Lures Choices Early March
Dave, do you throw that trap and red eyed shad in black/red color only in the spring? Just curious why black/red and not chrome/blue, i know it has to do with the spring crayfish?
Re: Kentucky Lake Lures Choices Early March
The black/red because of the craw color....I do throw the chrome/blue also....I only put the one color because the individual that started the thread said I could only have 3 lures...so I picked the one I thought would work more often than the other.
Re: Kentucky Lake Lures Choices Early March
I am off from work this week for lack of work and my daughter, a Murrary State student, calls me up and ask me to come to have dinner with her tomorrow. To convience me to come and buy her dinner she suggested that I bring the boat and spend the day fishing on kentucky Lake. But before I make the three hour drive with boat in tow how is the fishing on Kentucky?
Bass fishing is my first love but crappie are a close second? Is it worth pulling the boat and what should I have tied on?
Re: Kentucky Lake Lures Choices Early March
The LM bite has been good overall lately from reports I have gotten...my latest report is up on the Ky Lake Report page so check it out for lures and patterns.
Re: Kentucky Lake Lures Choices Early March
Thanks, I went to the KY lake Fishing Report page and I appreciate the information. After talking to my daughter last night I decided make the trip on Wednesday.
