Re: Fishin.com get-together???
Wow $20 for food and then $25 for the tournament we better do it at a state park so i can stay the night(lol)Humm why even do a cookout there is a lodge at Barren and Rough that we could eat at after a cheaper tournament than $25 so the kids could fish too.Just my Thoughts.

Re: Fishin.com get-together???
Let the bashing begin! I was at the first "get-together" at the Barren tailwaters, I was told that we would meet there in the campground starting on Friday. I brought cookers, fish, supplies etc. thinking I may get a little help on having this outing. Jim D and his nephew were the only one's there.
After the fact of the original post it turn'ed into a Bass tourney. Now keep in mind this is Fishin.com not BASS RULE CENTRAL. Beleive it or not some of us fish for other species.
Then to top it off after the weigh in at the ramp several of you left and never even came to the "get-together" you know who you are.
For the one's that did we had a very nice time and it was nice to put names with faces, but I think from reading this thread that very few understand that this was to be a "get-together" not a full out tournament.
I will not be there unless the format is changed!

Re: Fishin.com get-together???
if you have it around the green/barren area id be more than obliged to attend and put some faces with the screen names and im sure a few of my buddies that are on the board would show up to....whether we have a tourny or not id be glad to chip in on the food
Re: Fishin.com get-together???
April 4 is out for me, will be @ ky lake with the old man!!! any other time I'm good!
Re: Fishin.com get-together???
The only way to do this and not have what Dave spoke of is not to have it near a lake at all. Yes, I'm serious a get together is not a bass tournament and if you try to coincide the two you are kidding yourself. Pick a meeting hall venue collect money ahead of time if enough proceeds are collected then proceed with function, if not refund everyone's money that did pay in. Then come and enjoy food, fellowship, adult beverage drinking, lie telling, back slapping, plan making, friend making fun. Leave the poles at home, you will never do both successfully I all but guarantee it. If you want to meet people and put names with faces this is how to do it boys. Besides I love to eat barbecue and drink Miller Lites and I would help with work and the monitary cost of this, but I'm not interseted in get together / bass tourney, just my two cents. That barbecue thing has got my mouth watering.........
Re: Fishin.com get-together???

That would be the best way imo. Somehwere as centrally located as possible. Maybe a park or someone who has a big farm or something.
Re: Fishin.com get-together???
We have a empty house at the entrance to the Dale Hollow lake state park, could park 4 maybe 5 rigs in there, if someone wants to put together a campout and or get together,
for a few dollars I can get the ele. turned on its just an old farm house that our renters
have gutted but its handy and clean. If someone wants to do all the leg work let me know its free and available
Re: Fishin.com get-together???
Sounds fun. I'm young and poor but seem to have been taught to shoot well so, I would rather bring food and beer and put the cash in my gas tank. Currently located in Louisville so naturally the closer to here the better for me.
