I guess my boss wanted to make sure I didn't got to go today. I got to work at 8 am and don't get off till midnight. So those of you who were out there today, count your blessings (you could have been here). It was a beautiful day though.
Buddy and I got eaten up by the wind on Cedar Creek...boated one
4 1/2 lbs on suspending jerkbait and thats it. Still felt good to have the sun on my head though!
Got SKUNKED on Barren yesterday. Nothing, not even a bite.
Fought the wind on Ky Lake yesterday till the TM died, had one bite and couldnt hook up.
I was going to go this morning till I heard the wind whipping early so I rolled over and got some much needed sleep.
Fished a buddy of mine's 6 acre lake. My 13-year-old son was in a canoe by himself, I was in a row boat and my buddy was in another row boat. We decided to have a mini tournament for fun and my son caught the only keeper, about a three pounder. I blanked and my buddy caught two crappie on a spinnerbait. Trust me, I am still hearing from my son who suddenly thinks he is KVD or something.
We went to Nolin where we fished the Piney. I caught 1 short fish 13" on a red and white spinner bait. Like everyone else we faught the wind. Later on we moved on to Brier creek. We tried many luers but only caught the one fish. We had to pull off the lake early to go to a wedding so we only fished about four hours.
The water temp was between 46 & 48 degrees. It was a good day other than the wind.
went to rough saturday and its name says it all it was rough. the wife caught 2 small bass crappie fishing, daughter caught 1 bass also looking for crappie. i caught a case of wind burn!! lake was muddy near north fork and real low. i knew when we got there it was going to be hard to fish but it didnt matter boat ran great, new trolling mtr was awesome so all in all it felt great to finally get out and no snow on the ground
We caught three small large mouth and a bluegill at a pond on beetle spins. My 7 year old caught two, one more than anyone else so he won the "tournament". It was a great day to be out with the kids.
Two keeper Ky's and one 15 inch smallmouth from Cumberland. Two on fnf and one on a crankbait.
Looks like your the winner. Only guy to catch anything that was a keeper.
Went to KY lake on Friday Sat and Sunday........
Only fished 2 hours Friday, but caught 3 bass........1 keeper.........all on rattletraps.
Saturday, had to fight MONSTER winds, and caught 30 bass with 10 keepers. All on tubes, in 4-6 ft of water........
Sunday........Same pattern........but WORSE wind, and only caught 10 with no keepers.
All in all ..........pretty GOOD weekend.
BTW.............trolling motor batteries died both days..........pulled off at noon yesterday, charged the batteries for 3 hours, and went back out at 4:00.
Later,
Geo

It has been windy here for sure on the big lakes for the past few days...but the fish are definitely biting.
