Re: Leaving for KY Lake Wed Morning - I'm Back
Water came up like a rocket the past 36 hours...it is now over 358...hope they don't drop the bottom out of it and just leave it up there. Today was a much nicer day than yesterday for sure...lol.
That is likely going to happen...isn't it Dave? How far do you think they will drop it?

I have no idea if they will be dropping it or letting it stay up where it is..forecast on their site says it stays at least for the next day or two.
I checked up river lake levels and Pickwick, Wilson and Guntersville had all been above normal levels from the heavy rains last week....but they seem to have their water back in line with where they should be now in the past 48 hours...of course dumping the water downstream is what backed our water up....the question is now that those lakes are back in line...is the TVA going to pull the water back down here...only time will tell.
Re: Leaving for KY Lake Wed Morning - I'm Back
Thanks for the report. Now you know why I hesitated to write my report early last week...the changing weather patterns did exactly as I suspected they would do but I wanted to get a few more reports from Wed and Thursday and a closer look at the upcoming developing weather patterns before I wrote my report. Your report mirrors a number of reports I received.....a few big bass and lots of short fish....as my report also indicated, some reports indicated good catches of keeper bass during the same period. It seemed more of a feast or famine on the keeper bass during the latter part of the week. I attribute this as much to the bass starting to transition as much the weather patterns.
I hope everyone got off the water safely on Saturday...especially those fishing on N. Barkley. Those were some nasty storms that came thru the area around 3:00 pm.
Chris: Thanks for calling me to let me know you guys made it back in safe on Saturday....I had dropped my clients off at the dock early because I saw the storms coming and was on my way back out in the storm to check on you guys to make sure you were ok and bring you in if need be when you called. Hope your engine problem is just a little one and not serious. I was nailed by hail, winds and big time rain as I was loading my boat when I got back in after you called....Elwood was loading in front of me and he was hit by the hail and crap also. Talked to Elwood Saturday night and they had a decent day although they did not get the monster fish he was after....not sure what they did yesterday....he and Cliff were planning on going out yesterday...I cancelled my trip yesterday with the high winds and cold.
Thanks again Dave . I just sucked up some wood into my engine it was restricting flow. It did fine on the way back I was just scared to run it. Hard to beleive a little piece of wood could do it. Part of it was still in it when I got back home. I actually tied the boat off to load and the wind was so bad it broke my rope. I was beginning to think I was doomed before I got home. But we finally made it to the house. I actually live just up from the Lyon County ramp at Mineral Mound. If you ever need anything I can be in the water in minutes just give me a call.
