Rick,
The old Garcias will click when the spool rotates. We just dial back the drag until it holds. Just an idea.

I'm 4 hours and counting from heading to Dale. I've done lots of research and read lots of "stuff" about baits to throw, where to throw, how deep to fish, what colors to throw, etc. Guys seem to be having hit and miss success from Obey River all the way to the dam.
It's almost GO TIME and I'm as ready as I'm gonna be. It'll be two and a half days of gettin' after it. Will report back when we return.

didnt follow that, IM missing something here......when we leave the bail open it lets the line off freely, we call that a run, then its a matter of timing on setting the hook
Rick I thank what the Bassman is talking about is leaving the bail close and looseing up the drag.I'll done this catfishing. I feel like Rollin Martin now with all this new information, I just wished I'll had it before last Sat..
Well there next time. Thanks Guys for the information and Rick when I'll down that away again, if I can find the right dock, I'll like to buy you a coke and a hamburger. I'll be at Barren tommorrow I'll sure that technice will work there also.:p
