i personally think that your statement is uncalled for and its people like u that give conservation officers a bad name.... everyone has there moments and from what i can see after hanging around quite a few conservation officers and i am in the final stages of the hiring process to be one they do have to deal with the same stuff all the time and the fish adn wildlife laws arent rocket science.... i mean u need a fire extingusher, life jackets and a few other things that are mandatory for your boat.... if u are fishing u need license, keep only legal fish, lets see what else is there, oh yeah here is a tough one, dont make a wake in a no wake zone.... Alcoholic drinks are illegal in public in the state of KY and the LAKE is the public..... come on buddy its not that hard to follow the rules and every one will have a great outdoor experience..... and i will give u the benefit of the doubt that there is two sides to every story... so i would like for u to tell me why u think that a man doing what he is paid to do to support his family is being a jerk.....

Re: kincaid report 18'6" rule ???
Punctuation can really help a reader out.
MOST game wardens I have dealt with have been great. That is not to say there aren't a few bad apples in the mix - there are with any job.

well if a game warden is off duty then they do have to come out and go to work frankfort just calls in another one that is close because they wont pay overtime unless someones life is in danger and it still just goes to comp time and a game warden doesnt need permission to be on your property if u tell them no they cant walk out there and check a hunter more than likely they are still goin to walk out there and check that hunter..... and if u watched them put the deer up and still shot at it that is just a complete lack of respect for the law and u should have gotten into trouble....
Re: kincaid report 18'6" rule ???
Okay. To make sure I'm reading this right, let me know if I'm breaking the law. I have a Cobra190 which id 18'8", with a 200 Merc. I often fish Carnico because I can be there in 20 minutes.
Is Carnico listed as with an 18'6" limit according to the above law? The way it is broken into sections and sub-sections, got me a little confused. Help me out, am I above the limit on Carnico or not?

i just contacted our local conservation officer here and if someone calls and complains to frankfort more than likely u are going to get checked.. but this is going to be soley up to the officers discretion on whether u get cited or not.... i personally dont think u are going to get cited if u got a 19 footer and as long as u treat the people fishing around u wiht respect i wouldnt see a problem.....
Re: kincaid report 18'6" rule ???
I read a few years ago that Kincaid was supposed to be one of the most fertile lakes in KY and I'm glad to hear the bass fishery has improved since I was a little shaver. Since I was a little kid I always thought it would be cool to be a Conservation Officer, that is what most of you fellas official title is right? Or is that just the guys that go to schools and work the camps and what not? Oh, before the following tyrade let me say that every single employee of KDFWR I have ever spoken with or encountered, period, has treated me and my family members with the utmost respect, especially considering the stress of negotiating a situation where everyone usually has a loaded firearm.
Anyway I want to know why his boat had a 75 and everyone else using the lake MUST have a 9.9 (rhetorical question)? Setting one hell of an example for the little ones there aren't we? Guys in uniforms with shiny badges can seemingly disobey the law while "feeding there families" but no one else had better even think about it. I bet if you pulled up next to a judge or God forbid the Governor on a lake and they had a beer in their hand, no life jackets, and two-hundred pounds of lead shot you and every other officer "would use their discretion" not to ticket them. And personally I think all the authority you guys get; free range to trespass, confiscate (Or does the fact that who ever owned that property before you took it, at gunpoint mind you, or if you don't like to think of it that way, behind the implied potential use of deadly force, worked hard just to be able to purchase, maintain and, properly license that equipment mean nothing? I say if you as a man, take something from me without permission, you stole it ), no need for warrants or probable cause, etc., etc., etc, is crapolla. If the the department needs more money to enable its officers to constitutionally enforce laws imposed by the legislature, at that point I think the General Fund should contribute some money for clerks to file for warrants, take calls, and so on. My main beef I suppose is being able to enter without a warrant, really rubs me the wrong way. Like so many other State related ethical issues, we could do better if we tried.
In summation, I hate, let me repeat, hate, people who think it is their right to abuse their power, whether it is the fat kid who runs the play ground taking some weak nerds lunch money, or a "bad apple" their position of authority should not preclude them from observing the same behavioral standards that any other citizen is held to 24/7 but, all that whining and blathering aside we certainly need laws in place to keep those among us who lack the common sense to recognize the need for consideration of and cooperation with others to maintain our magnificent game populations and, I for one am glad that good hearted guys like Ryan are out there, or soon to be out there I should say, doing whats right for all the citizens of the Commonwealth. Thank you sir for not being afraid to do what is right. I'm almost done with my Poli Sci degree and I hate waiting tables, KDFWR still taking applications?

If this is the case then I'm pretty sure that some of those pontoon boats need to go.

Pontoons aren't mon-hull now are they?
Re: kincaid report 18'6" rule ???
I think it says pontoons can be 22' could be wrong though, always room for misinterpretation.
Re: kincaid report 18'6" rule ???
Heck like I said he might have had a bad day, if I do something wrong I expect no mercy if I know what Im doing is wrong. My brother in law has a 22 foot skeeter, and has fished that lake for 20 some odd years, know you are telling me he is going to have to buy a small boat. He uses his trolling motor to propel the boat. I have been washed ashore by some of those 9.9 motors at full speed leaving a wake larger than a 22 foot skeeter at ideling speed can somebody answer the queation why you cannot idle your motor if you are not kicking out a wake.
