Re: Social Bookmarking enabled - help
This is exactly where I was headed with my post. Web to mobile platform can be done with minimal effort. We are finalizing our product with patents pending and I will be in touch when we are ready to launch.
In lay terms, here's how this could work: Imagine being on the lake and your struggling. You want to see if there are any recent posts for the lake you're fishing. Pull it up on your phone and BAM... instant fishing reports. Post to your Fishin.com friends and share a little info or a photo of a big fish.
This is just one of many applications. A few more could be instant coupons at BPS or the specials from your favorite restaurant. Japan has been doing this for some time now.
Sounds like you know something about this. Are you in the business of making web sites phone friendly.
Call me if you have some ideas to share.

Re: Social Bookmarking enabled - help
I suppose another variation would be a twitter stream on the site in reverse of what I suggested above.
In other words, the site is pulling twitter feeds from all users who want to "tweet" and on Saturday mornings, we could all live vicariously through the twitter feed from various posters describing how they just landed a big one or what they are throwing at the moment, etc.
Call me if you want to explain further. Not sure why twitter in "reverse" would be needed.
I was texting a freind at the lake last weekend (we were both on the same lake) and it was very effetctive quick and easy. Sprint did not have the higher connection for web enabled at CLand but texting did work. I could not understand texting until I had to start using it with my kids.

Re: Social Bookmarking enabled - help
Another aspect you may want to look into is making a mobile version of the site. Something that is stripped down and falls to a URL that is something like: mobile.fishing.com/forums
For a good example of this, check out the CatsPause site. You can view it normally from a computer and get just the text from the mobile version of the site.
I might be missing something. Let me know.
I went to catspause.com on my blackberry and it didn't look thatgreat on the phone. Is that the correct site?

Go to wireless.rivals.com and then click teams and find your way to UK. On the main site, I believe there is a small link at the top that mentions wireless.
Re: Social Bookmarking enabled - help
I'm like a couple of the other guys here, I've never heard of some of those things you mentioned...I still have no clue what twitter is. As far as facebook is concerned, I have a facebook page...at least I'm pretty sure I still do...I never go it except for when I want to post a new picture or something like that. Kentucky Afield is also on my facebook page...not sure why they are, it's just something Kentucky Afield said do one night while I was watching it.
