As Rangerman will agree i used to have a few superstitions... some were good first day in tourney then wear same clothes(with a change in underwear and socks though).... if i go a while with out a bite i walk around the chair and start fishing again... if still no luck go the other way... no bananna except for a moon pie... but the only one i still follow is I do not take a chew untill I catch a fish...any species counts.... still do it to this day and only a couple of times have i broken that....
I used to fish with a guy named Mike who had a deep-V MonArk that was really hard to pee out of. To remedy that, he kept a 3-foot piece of PVC pipe in his rear motor well he called his "pee extender".
One December day were were fishing 3 in his boat on Cumberland when a flock of geese appeared on the horizon. Quickly, Mike shouted to the guy in the back, who had never fished with us before: "Hurry, grab that goose call behind you and call 'em in!"
Sure enough, he grabs this piece of PVC, puts it up to his lips and makes like Dizzy Gillespie. Mike and I say nothing, other than to compliment him on his excellent calling ability.
About 20 minutes later, Mike announces, "Man, I gotta pee", heads to the back of the boat, and uses the pee extender for its real purpose.
You should've seen the look on the other guy's face.:D
thats funny right there don t care who you are.... except maybe for the goose whisperer.....

I don't use a goose call while fishing.
I have people walking past my office thinking that I have lost my mind.
I think I stopped breathing for a second.

This thread sure beats talking about posting or not posting tournaments on this board.
My 2 cents

i though it would be something fun to do and pass the rest of the day and that it has done with a smile on my face now that thats all be said when i fish a tourney i got to have my old tennessee titans shirt on and im not a fan of them and its kinda of funny to show up at the ramp in the morins and see a lot of people wearing the same thing as the week end before

As for good first days, does that include that danged ole cowboy hat with the hole from my buzzbait?:D However, I have to agree on the lucky hat rule.
Yeah, the chew rule you implemented I thought was going to break you from chewing on a couple occasions until you started allowin boogies.
Shaw Grisby also has the same superstition about the bananas.
I alway put my plug in my boat. I never have any luck when my boat starts taking on water. :D.
I alway make my first cast flipping style. Dont know why just do.
No cameras, when I pack one I always strike out!
My brother in law claim's it's bad luck to have pennies in your pocket when fishing and he also believes banana's are bad as well. Little does he know I slip some change in his tackle box before he gets on the boat, I need all the advantage I can get.
Dave:rolleyes:
Bad luck to go fishing with my wife because she counts anything she catches. She usually throws a rooster tail and counts numbers at the end of the day. I try and usually do leave her butt at home.
