I think before some of you get waaaay too carried away, you might consider that China and Russia are likely a tad more upset than the US over this right now. Not sure either one of them would be happy with us playing in their backyard. If I am not mistaken, Bush's plan was that its a Chineese problem, let them handle it. He might be right on that one.

OK I really don't believe this had anything to do with politics......but HAD Truman let MacArthur KICK those commies back to China......we'd NOT have this problem.

Actually, it was Truman (Democrat) that nuked Japan so this has nothing to do with Rep vs Dem....like I said before...people need to get off their far right and far left horses and be Americans together before there is no American future left to argue about.

I am now 100% in this camp. It's time to ban together and stand up for America before it's to late.
Well said Dave and Mark. We do not need to be dems repubs liberals consretives we need to be American's and stand up like our forefathers did and stop these people from messing with us. Just like Iraq, instead of haveing to go back again, we should have taken care of it the first time, same with Korea, should have just nuked them also. Like said before, send in the ghosts and get rid of the problem. PST, Thud, Done.

I don't believe politics had ANYTHING to do with the decision...but pulling Mac out of the battle lead to the CRAP we're dealing with today with the north.
HAD we pushed China completely out....AND the Soviets stayed out of the battle......maybe things are different.......OR Maybe the entire planet is a large burnt piece of glass.....WHO KNOWS.
It was a bad decisions by a civilian.....that is all I'm saying.
NOW......granted that civilian was the COMMANDER in CHIEF......but I think it was made for the wrong reasons.........I guess that means it WAS POLITICAL.

A minor point.........the problem with Gulf War 1.......The UN didn't Mandate that we kick the CRAP out of saddam.....it mandated that we KICK Saddam out of Kuwait.....and I'm sorry.....this is always a LEFT and RIGHT issue.
You remember the TOTAL DESTRUCTION on the highway of DEATH.......yea.....the place we destroyed thousands of vehicles fleeing Kuwait. Well the RIGHT was put through the RINGER for killing all those innocent soldiers running away.
These are the SAME SOLDIERS that INVADED Kuwait in the first place. Sorry for their **** luck.
I'd LOVE to see us get rid of the LEFT or RIGHT mentality...but you know what....I've NEVER seen or heard anyone on this site from the LEFT post such an idea. There are many of us that are willing to move a little center, but the LEFT will ALWAYS BE LEFT.......and by you moving a little center, you give up a little of the ground necessary to defeat the SOCIALIST MENTALITY being shoved down our throat.....

Actually, I posted that last year. Something very similar to what Dave stated recently: we gotta stop thinking as dems, repubs, african american, white american, etc. and start thinking as Americans. Its what is best for America as a whole that counts, not various ways that you want to try and separate it. I think you'll also find that many of us "liberals" on the site have sided with the right on several occasions. Heck, some of us said we even agreed with Bush on several points :eek: Check out the latest descision on Gitmo, most of the left in congress voted with the right and against the president. You might also consider how often the right wingers on this board berate liberals or speak of them in derogitory terms. A whole lot more often than the other way around. Still, I agree with the idea, dump the whole left-right bs and start thinking as Americans.
