Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing
I have like 400 bucks worth of gift cards to that place I need to burn up before they go out. I am going to hold out and get a fish finder for the boat or a couple good rods and reels.
The thing I did not like about that place is that most of the time the people working in the fishing department had no idea about fishing. It was pretty funny to ask them a question and they would respond with "man I have no idea go ask the guy in the hunting department." The guys in the bow department were pretty good and knowlegable about most things.
Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing
I just went there this morning (Sunday 7/5). Everything is now 10-30% off.
All fishing tackle and line is 20% off. Rods and reels vary at 10-20% off. Looks like most of the guns are about 10% off. Hunting equipment is mostly 10% off, some of it is 20%. Clothing is mostly 20-30% off.
Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing
Does anybody know when they are supposed to close their doors?

Agree with splitshot, its sad when a business goes under. You have to wonder about the corporate office doing the buying. You would think that a good manager, with experience in the region, has a better idea of what products to stock. That was my biggest beef with sportsmans: always out of the stuff that sold around here. Plenty of lures that you rarely seen people using lining the shelves. You gotta wonder why some of that stuff is even there.

Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing
That's a shame to hear, I always enjoyed shopping there. They always seemed to have something that I couldn't find at ****'s or anywhere else. I replaced the guts of my 20+ year old Coleman latern for $20 from that place and it works like it's right out of the box. I agree, the shelves seemed to be empty most of the time, esp. in the ammo/reloading section. Kind of hard to sell something if it's not on the shelves...
Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing
I was in there today most everything is 10 to 30 percent off except guns and ammo. Most all lures are 20 percent off and reels are 10 percent off. I heard that the longer they go the more percent off things will be but they also said the last day is July 31.
Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing
Looks like they may have opened the door to a bigger player....Just wait and see what takes it place.

Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing
I went in several times to buy specific items and every time I came out empty handed. I tried to buy stuff, but they were always out of stock. They had a lot of crap on the shelves but all the good stuff was always out of stock.
I have to disagree. They carried lots of quality baits that are hard to find baits. Lucky Craft, Yamamoto, IMA, hard to find chatterbaits, quality shakey heads, among others. Plenty of quality baits just maybe not what you are used to seeing and using. I will miss the store they had baits I like that I cant find anywhere else. I plan on making a couple trips there the next couple weeks. But I think it will help Backwaters if I had $100 to spend instead of 50 to backwaters and 50 to Sportsmans Warehouse like I usually spend it will be $100 to Backwaters.
Re: Sportsman's Warehouse at Hamburg is Closing
Went over a lunch today and the place was packed. You can tell that stuff is getting sold but there's plenty to still choose from. Lots of soft plastics and crankbaits left in good colors. I'm sure the discounts will get deeper but by that time there won't be much left.
They close the store July 31.
