Re: Going out of business.... No wonder
You all understand this is a corporate owned store, not a local owned store? And corporation is in bankruptcy. The liquidation is under supervision of a bankruptcy judge. That's how bankruptcy works. The money they get now goes directly to the creditors under the bankruptcy plan set forth by the court. Therefore they can't just sell stuff at whatever price they want. Their hands are tied.
Understand.......but selling something for 1 DOLLAR is better than sending the final STUFF to Auction where they might get 1 DOLLAR for a BOX of stuff.
Bottom Line.......they should have taken the OFFER.......Pride, and GREED got in the way here....AGAIN.

Geo
so bb what was the name of the "locally owned" shop your buddy went and dropped a hundred bucks?
i believe it was backwaters
Re: Going out of business.... No wonder
Maybe they are going to send the left over stuff to their other stores to sell? I can see alot ways they can get more money for that product than just accepting any offer that is made.

Exactly, Geo. I didn't think the 150.00 I offered was unreasonable. Can't remember who mentioned them sending stuff to other stores, but I doubt that's gonna happen. Too much cost involved to ship stuff around from store to store when you're already in bankruptcy. It'll go to auction like Geo said. Not a Fan of D###'s either but that was a good example of customer service. I would rather go to local tackle and hunting shops anyway than any of the above mentioned stores. Usually have a hard time finding what I want at Wally world or ****'s. Sportsman's was hard to find stuff and WAY overpriced. May have to pay more on some things in local shops, but you get customer service and what you want, even if they have to order it.
Re: Going out of business.... No wonder
If you've been in there lately, you'd see that they aren't going to send much of anything to auction. There are no tents left, so apparently not taking your $150 was a good thing for them.
