Re: Rush Limbaugh on Fishing Shows
Rush is arrogant, and an ego maniac, and I love him!! He is right on 99.1% of the time like he tell's you on his show. He also advises that his talent is on loan from GOD... This of course is meant to be somewhat facetious to the liberals. Overall I think he has his head on straight and does a lot for common americans by helping get the truth out there about politics today.
I love boortz too but just don't hear him on the radio here in Lexington any more.
I just wanted to say that, Yeah, Rush got addicted to pain killers after suffering with his hearing and implant. One may ask "How,it's a hearing thing not chronic pain?" I have heard that it can be very painful and taxing on a person's well being.. Either way... He is off the drugs, his message is good and I know that I am not justified to cast a stone in judgement. If God can forgive him so can I. All of us get derailed at some time, his was just a more public affair due to the Liberal Media wanting to tear him down for what he stands for. Jesus said come follow me, not come as you are as long as you have never suffered an addiction and been ridiculed by the media.
Re: Rush Limbaugh on Fishing Shows
As someone who has worked in the healthcare field for over ten years, I know the ease with which someone can become hooked on pain medications. It happens ALL THE TIME! There narcotics, for crying out loud. Your body will demand them after periods of use. I actually give Rush major credit for overcoming this, as many people are not capable.
As for quality fishing shows, those days are over. The shows now days are all for show and not for fishing. Whenever I run across that Charlie Moore crap, I get his annoying little voice stuck in my head for weeks! Guy drives me nuts. If you broke down his show, there is actually about 2-3minutes of fishing. The rest is him being an idiot. I used to give Bill Dance a hard time for fishing only in honey holes, but at least his show was about fishing and fishing tactics. I can appreciate a pretty pig, even if it is somebody's pet. :D
Kudos to Rush!

Re: Rush Limbaugh on Fishing Shows
I did hear the show. This was not an off hand remark by Rush. A caller was all fired up and even made the comment that Rush would not agree with him. The caller made the comment that americans are stupid for electing BHO. He said that the American people should stop watching american idol and stop watching crab fisherman and pay attention to whats going on. Rush was very amused and was chuckling when he was trying to repeat what the caller said after the caller was gone. I didn't take it wrong at all as most have. I would turn off the radio if I thought Rush had bad feelings toward fisherman. This is what normally happens to Rush when people that don't listen try to get him something.
Sorry, but Rush lost all credibility when he had to go into rehab. Sorry, but after giving druggies hell then becoming one, he is an absolute joke. Don't be bamboozled. Boortz is more for personal freedom and liberty than Rush or any of the so-called Republicans/conservatives in power. www.fairtax.org
Wow! I would like to meet You! I never met a man that has never made a mistake or has done something that he is ashamed of! You must be the perfect human being that all the Democrats are speaking of.
Re: Rush Limbaugh on Fishing Shows
The former Archbishop of Louisville also became addicted to pain killers after surgery.
My point is that it is an easy addiction that is often inflicted upon a person who would normally NOT get addicted if not for the surgery requiring them.
To say he lost credibility for being human is to say he has no right to speak at all.
As for the off hand remark, I agree, however, I have a selfish motive. I want to draw attention to a sport Mr. Limbaugh does not partake of. He is an avid golfer, and does not fish or hunt while he DOES express our rights to do so on a daily basis. It is all about perception. Get Limbaugh on fishing and he will stay on our side and with Peta and Obama in the White House getting more and more liberal it is time to stand up and make the sport more visible.
Yes Limbaugh was making an off hand remark, but to call fishing programs, ALL of them like American Idol is not in the best interest of the sport and Limbaugh of all people should not be doing it. It makes it harder to get people to listen to us when it is time for money to be disbursed, or when we look for new taxes to help our sport. Failure to act when someone of Rush's caliber makes us irrelevant is to fall down the pit into irrelevancy.

You will have to agree! It's better to go and do the sport than watch it on TV!
