Re: Ky Lake or Lake Fork??
Fork has a 16 to 24 inch slot and only one fish in a 5 fish limit can be over 24 so the other 4 have to be under 16. Unless everyone is catching 16 and 17 pound fish ( the lake record is 18 ) how are guys not placing with 25 and 26 pound sacks? It would be hard to have a sack over 25 on a lake were 4 of your fish are 2 to 2.5 pound keepers and only one toad.
Just passing on what I know about that lake. That is one of the reasons the big trails like FLW and BASS don't have tournaments there.
I think he was referring to Amistad and Falcon.

I stand corrected. I thought he was talking about Fork since the OP was asking about it or KY Lake. I'm going to Falcon in Feb.

That's what they say. LOL!! We hope to tie into some fish over 10 pounds. My buddy that has been down there has caught a 12 and said the likelyhood of getting one over 10 is very high. He caught his 12 during the fall so going close to the spawning period should help our chances. I'd settle for 6 and 7s all day too!!
Re: Ky Lake or Lake Fork??
HiDef,
In my post I was referencing "Falcon", not Fork, as the place I would go if I were making a trip that long anyway. And on Falcon, they have NOT placed with sacks that size. You are right about the slot limit on Fork, and that IS a BIG issue for not having events there. One of the events I heard of that was held there was done my "Radio communications", the anglers would call in their fish and weight (as confirmed by the "observer" in the boat so as not to ever have two overs. I don't think this went as well as they thought and I have not heard about it again, so who knows. Sorry for the confusion with my post, I was thinking faster than I can type sometimes though :) Good catch.

you can always fish KY lake if you live that close. I wouldn't pass on a trip to Lake Fork
Re: Ky Lake or Lake Fork??
I know alot are mentioning Falcon or Amistead but he is pretty familar with Fork, they fished it for 2 weeks a year for several years. He still has the last day of the last trip in his mind where it was around 32 and snowing, caught fish all day, every one of them over 5 lbs said it was like bluegill fishing, a fish every cast. He said his shoulder hurt for a week after that day... I wish mine would hurt from something like that!
