OK elwood, was it a big smallie or a drum? I'm ok with drum, but it is always nice to put a big smallie in the boat. :) The last two times out, my buddy and I targetted drum on the Ohio river. The sauger weren't biting good so we went to a bank with a lot of rocks and ended up catching 23 drum combined for both trips. All on the Flitterbait. The fish you hooked doesn't sound like a drum to me. The drum we caught were sometimes hard to detect when they hit. None of them swam very fast and they all stayed under the boat bull dogin for the bottom.

This particular point that I was fishing is both a good FNF and Silver Buddy point. The fly had slowed down a bit and I had a choice between the buddy or flitterbait to tie on and I chose the Flitterbait. The fish was way to fast and made that special run that only a Smallie can do. She was defineately a GOOD Smallie. A big drum sort of fights like a cross between a Catfish and a Largemouth but a Big Smallie fights like no other fish I have ever caught.
I was in Backwaters (in Lex) earlier and I heard a guy come in asking for them.
I was in backwaters [ in lex] asking for the flitter bait. was you the guy that told me where i could find them in richmond. if so, thanks.:)
Picked up to flitters after my last CL trip, but haven't had a chance to wet them yet. They look great though! Just like those small shad the stripers are chasing up there. Can't wait to use them.

I have caught all species of the Morone family with it plus a few other fish. It's a great little bait. I bet it would be great for walleye/sauger but haven't had the chance to try it yet.

I was just in there picking up some jig trailers. I read this post earlier in the day and figured that you had too since you came in asking about them.:)
Had another one on the Flitterbait Thursday. This one was 20 1/2 and 4 1/2 lbs. hammered the bait and took me under the boat several times to which I was turning the boat to keep my line from rubbing the bottom of my boat. 3sons was laughing at me because this fish was taking me everywhere. sure does make it easier to fight these monsters on the 10' FNF rods versus the 6 1/2 Spinning rods. Really nice bait that if you like to throw the Silver Buddy, you will like this bait just as good
HJust got through talking to steve at fishermens one stop, he is putting a couple aside for me , hope this isn't another gizz 4, which works well at times. I wonder why I buy all these things and never keep any fish? Yesterday was a bust for me on the FNF tried hendricks creek pulsey and sulpher, but got a late start so my bad, also tried the buddy and lucky lure. Am I holding my mouth right?
Elwood, do you recieve a commision from one stop? Hope to see you guys tonight.
