Yea Gills shut the door will ya, lol? They are also worried about Florida'a Citrus crop to, It was mid 40's by the time the Orange Bowl concluded last night, the coldest one ever all time.
Global Warming, Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase.
Seen ice/sleet/snow in Orlando many years ago. I guess we didn't have Al B. Gore pointing out our global warming crises yet.
Come to think of it he didn't even invent the internet yet? Man I'm glad he is around to guide us selfish fuel burning folks to the light! Green light that is...:p
Good news about the folks that drive too fast on the snow and ice is that when they wipe out, they skid far clear of the road in the process and don't block traffic.
Bad news about the slow drivers is when they wipe out, they end up blocking the sidewalks where I usually drive.
Excellent point Bob, I hate slow drivers and those drivers that get into the left passing lane and drive slow and hold up other drivers. At least fast drivers are courteous enough to get out of the way when they lose control of their vehicle.:p

Had a wild day today in our massive 4 inch snow storm. Went to the local community college to sign up for next semester. As I arrived at the entrance to the parking lot off the main road, I saw a lady stuck in the middle lane trying to turn left to the parking lot in front of me. I was in the right lane and going to make a right, and with no one behind me, I decided to slow way down, to block for her, and flashed my headlights to say it was okay to cut in. She was kind of stranded in the turn lane with a hill behind her and a string of cars closing on the snowy roads behind her. Well, she waved, and pulled in.
As I started to make my left I glanced in the mirror and saw a blue Chevy SUV closing down on me real fast from behind. The granny was in front of me now, and I crowded up close to her to try to get out of the oncoming, charging Chevy. I was just clear the road, and looked in the mirror in time to see the Chevy brake hard, and the rear of his truck start coming around. Watching ahead and behind me, I kept trying to get out of the way, inching forward, as the Chevy overcorrected and spun out right behind me. I heard his boat trailer ball bounce off mine as he spun passed and landed in the ditch. The guy jumped out and yelled......."no problem here, good to go". I waved and went on.
Found a spot to park the van, climbed out and was looking at my trailer ball. It just had a minor nick so no harm done. As I turned to start to head in to register, out of the corner of my eye I see a little white Ford Taurus coming up the parking lot. I turned to look and saw a cutie with cell phone in hand about to drive passed me, when she swung in to park too quickly, and started sliding my way. She darn near pinned me between her Ford and the tailgate of the pickup truck beside me as she crashed sideways against the trucks bumper. Cell phone still in hand, she ran the window down, and says to me " wow, that was close, sorry dude". She then rolled up her window and continued her phone call.
Signed up for classes, was coming out to my van, opened the door, was half way in, when a red Toyota Corolla slid sideways passed me, spun. and ended up with its front bumper 6 inches from my half closed van door. Nose of the Toyota was pointed at me, and I was parked headfirst in a space. Young guy with a ring in each earlobe and an Aeropostale T-Shirt on jumped out, grinned at me, said nothing, pushed his remote to lock his doors, and just walked away.
Got home and filled the wife in. She was livid, yelling about idiot drivers, and that she could not believe I had all that bad luck in just one parking lot.
I told her: "Honey, calm down.......they missed."
To which she grinned and said: "That's why I'm mad and they are idiots.....they missed!".
LOL! Sounds like she has a great sense of humor. Guess she will have to find some better drivers next time.:p
haha Bob that was good. You know you and your wife could do a stand up routine like George Burns and Gracie Allen. You both remind me of that. LOL:D
I have about 5" in my yard, and it's snowing now. I had already planned a "staycation" for this week, so I guess my timing was good :)
I've been lucky, I guess. Driving to and from work the past few days, I haven't seen much more than the usual idiocy you see on the Gene Snyder every day. But judging by the number of cars abandoned in the median on along the shoulders, there's been plenty of it out there.
Been hitting the snow with the ATV doing "Cyclone Donuts". Its when you put it in 4x4 and nail the throttle for a serious spin.....man it gets me dizzy. MY buddy is posting them on Facebook.
