Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
ul was in the top ten in 2007 when UK beat them by 6. how many UL teams have been better than a #9 ranking to say that UK struggled to beat the worst teams ul has had since cooper was there?
They were ranked based on the season before. Where did they finish the year? Oh that's right 6-6 and no bowl game. I think I will stand by my statement.
Still took a blown assignment on defense to give the Cats a win.
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
What is UL's record vs UK in head to head football matchups?
The way I see it a Win is a Win.This year UK beat UL in Football,Mens Basketball, and Womens Basketball,I don't remember either team ever sweeping all three in a year.

Then you need to refresh your memory. Hasn't been all that long ago and when the Cards accomplished their sweep, they won the football game in Commonwealth and the Basketball game in Rupp. If I recall correctly, UK was No.1 when the Cards rolled into Rupp and left with a win.
It is 9-7 Louisville since the series was renewed in the modern days (days with face masks and no leather helmets). That is with UK winning the last three.
If you want to compare recent sports success, make a mens final four, make a college world series, win a BCS bowl and make a womens final four. Have your football team FINISH the season ranked in the top 10.
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
Heard on Mike and Mike this morning that some ESPN columnist land blasted Kiffin in the worst way. I never like the guy and I think he left the program in worst shape than he got it just because the one and done hurts recruits....makes UT look weak as well.
I understand why he did what he did and soon enough another coach will make a blunder and the heat will be off him...a little.
Saw the new coach has already been named for UT. Derek Dooley of Louisiana Tech...I never paid attention to him.

Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful

Here's UL's record vs UK in Football

Looks to me like UK holds a lead in basketball of 27-14
Looks like Uk holds a lead in Football 17-11
Considering UK went through the worst 10 years in their history UL hasn't gained much.UK has won the SEC several times and was considered National Champion in football in 1950 by some ratings,I'd like to see UL football play an SEC schedule every year.
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
The Big East in basketball is no joke.
DJD did you hear at the very end of the discussion Mike Greenberg stated that Gene Wo-jo-how-ski (the guy that did the bashing article) was a Tennessee grad. Barely got that in at the end so of course he's peeved. Love how all these writers and bloggers think the people they write about actually care about what they have to say. As Lane is snuggling up to his ultra-hot naked wife "no honey I'm not in the mood that article in ESPN.com really has me bummed"..........
Lane Kiffin may be a slimeball, but business is cut-throat these days. Job loyalty rarely exists on both sides any more. I know in my profession, if my "dream" job opened up 2 days after I had started a different job, I'm leaving........and I wouldn't judge if I've never been in that situation before.
The other parts that went with it I think are shady, but I don't hold it against him for simply leaving Tennessee.

Wow, how many of the people on this board are sports fans? Just curious. What do national rankings and accomplishments have to do with what caonference you are in?
Btw Skeeter, well played considering that other than football, you actually have to earn your way there. What brilliance considering that when Louisville made the Final Four they were in C-USA (you know, the conference that Cal couldn't win until Marquette, Cincy and Louisville left). What a hoot considering that when the Lady Cards made it to the Final Four last year, they were playing in the best womens basketball conference in AMERICA. The Lady cards played for the national championship last season against UConn. What conference were those two teams from? I forget, refresh my memory!
LOL this is too funny. I forgot to add the multiple volleyball and women's softball NCAA appearances. The Big East is one of the dominant conferences in the country when you compare sport for sport. Do you and fanatic want me to keep bombarding you with facts? I have plenty more.
Fanatic, Modern times for us is since the 1983 dream game in Knoxville, since neither of us saw games in the 50's and 60's. For football it would be since the 90's, once again when they started playing in our lifetime.
"It's like playing cards with my brother's kids!"

LMAO Tulane has more $EC football titles than UK does! Look it up.
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
the subject was football and thats what i was referring to in my last post. i dont watch baseball and i will watch womens vollyball but not because i like watching the ball go across the net. so i dont give a rats !@# about the FACTS that you keep throwing out. its clear that the SEC is the best football conference around and if there was a playoff, we would have two teams playing for the championship. lol
Re: Well,Ain't Lane Kiffin wonderful
Tim don't use facts in an argument! Just make up the stuff as you go along like others do on here. I love the way they talk about football, when was the last time UK was revelent in the SEC?
