Jerk bait are my favorite way to catch big fish in in spring I placed 8th in a Bass Invitational on pickwick and had the fish to win.any time the water is above 44 to59 I have one on.Tips I get more bites on 011 dia line and use a light drag start on the walls at the mouth of creeks when the water in the 40's and work in as the water warms too the coves. I have had many days with over 20lb on dale and Cumberland.
Re: MHALL, would like to hear more about March Jerkbaits?
I read a article in a magazine last week about jerkbaits in late winter and early spring. It said that if the hard jerkbaits arent working to also have a soft plastic jerkbait tied on too. They have different actions to them. Good luck and hope ya catch a bunch on hard or soft ones. Jc
Re: MHALL, would like to hear more about March Jerkbaits?
I've never had much confidence in hard jerkbaits, but I tied a bone-colored suspending X-rap on Sunday and headed to my local creek. Caught a chunky smallmouth and nice spot in just a few minutes (which was all I had). Definitely be trying it more.
